Why Lululemon's (LULU) New Men's Campaign is Crushing it

I appreciate honest marketing. Don’t lie to me what hotel I stay at will make me smarter or that my body spray is going to make me irresistible to women....

These are uncomfortable topics but we may as well air them out right now. This is a ballsy move on Lulu’s part but things have gotten hairy on the women’s side of the business with stiff competition from Nike (NKE - Analyst Report) and Under Armour (UA - Analyst Report) leading to shrinking sales. However, on the Men’s side, revenues were up 21% last quarter. The Men’s business accounts for about 15% of total sales. Over the next 5 years, the Men’s side could reach $1 billion and 25%. Analysts juggling both parts of the business still aren’t convinced.

PLEASE! I beg of you all...NO pictures of those awful, ‘man buns’ hair-dos.

Other man buns? Well...if you MUST, LOL!

Wait... isn’t this the same company that had the transparency issue (in a bad way) with women’s pants?!

This is a company that pressures its employees to attend the Landmark Forum, which is the latest version of Werner Erhard’s EST.

Overpriced athletic wear.

Immodest (read: way too thin fabric) athletic wear as well IIRC.

It was only last week, I learned of the term man bun!

I doubt my bicycle helmet would work with one?

Oh well, being mostly bald, it would take forever to grow one.

I'll take a bald pate over one of those effeminate, dorky Man Buns, ANY DAY!

And PLEASE - lose those STUPID beards! Gawd! Beau goes from Shaggy Hunter Winter Mode to looking like a clean cut Marine come spring. Guess which season garners him more, 'action' in the bedroom? LOL!

The one and same!
A quick check of google images, only proves money cannot buy common sense.

Perhaps they should have invested in a nice pair of glasses?

A co worker from a different area, was known as ‘baldy locks’?
He had a long ponytail? Always wore a hat.

One day in a meeting I saw him without the hat, just a horseshoe and the tail!!!

BALDYLOCKS!

LinkedIn was pursuing me all over the web with an ad featuring the most vapid, bearded twit with a man bun and a Mona Lisa smile, I wanted to slap him off the screen, lol. I don’t block ads because I’m somewhat in the business and want to see what’s out there. Serious miscue with that ad, it drove me the opposite direction.

Many many garments these days are very thin, especially sportswear. They market cost saving measures as a trend. I am in the apparel decorating business (mostly athletics). It’s rather shocking to me what girls and women will wear.
