I am bothered by the police---POLICE---using a bomb to kill the shooter. Yes, execute the murderer now or later, but the idea that the police are now going to use bombs to kill people instead of negotiating and waiting out people is surreal. This is, in my opinion, an escalation of militarization of the police and a very, very bad idea. Worse, it simply adds more power to the police to run roughshod over citizenry.
I think this is a whole like of discussion worth having, and separate from the emotion of the Black Lives Matters insurrection we are seeing. Not sure this is terrorism, seems more like violent insurrection against the government.
Cut out the middle man. No need for a Jack Ruby to take out the lone gunman.
Since the sniper only wanted to kill whites, the police chief should have just walked up to him and arrested him.
If they would have had a small drone type weapon to use at the PULSE club, it would have saved lives. Instead they negotiated and waited for several hours while people bled to death.
I don’t know what the circumstances were specifically, but I surmise (from the news reports so far) that the guy wasn’t going to come out, was going to kill as many cops as possible if they came in, or perhaps even other people.
If that’s anywhere near accurate, I don’t have a problem with the police doing an assisted suicide on the guy.
Here is a tip, do not hole up for two hours negotiating with police and stating the end is near and bombs are planted throughout the city, and expect the negotiations to last much longer. Especially after killing 5 police officers and firing again. The idiot gave the police justification to end it then as quickly as possible.
I guess u would rather risk the lives of more Policemen or civilians.

The cops seem to love to use flash grenades. Even when kids are present. Why not put a flash grenade on the robot?
I’m 100% against expansion of the police state but using pinpoint deadly force to take out an active shooter is very standard procedure and justified IMO
The only difference here is they used a robot to observe him and deliver the hit. Instead of forcing the cops to run into gunfire or throw a grenade where they can’t see
