Travon Clemmons of northwest suburban Hanover Park.
We heard fireworks and between the fireworks, it was like, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, he said. It was different from the fireworks.

Yes that is a tragedy, but it appears to be a different victim?
‘Chicongo’ nails it.
Alternative school usually means “reform school”
In my town they renamed the “alternative high school” “the Academy” so that such implications could not be drawn (at least by out-of-towners).
OMG, that is HILARIOUS! “Chicongo” is now the official name of the city, forevermore, at least within these here pages!
What is is about the name Travon that shouts, “Shoot me!”?
Reminds me of:
My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn’t leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don’t blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me “Sue.”

Bad all the way around, yes the copper is alive but IMO damaged.
One cannot have breakfast at home with family, jump into the seventh circle of hell and go home that night unchanged.
And it all looks so simple on TV.
Sorry - It’s been so many years since I heard that tune I forgot most of the lyrics. Glad to see we were on the same page ;’}
Alternative Schools Network ( http://www.asnchicago.org/ ) has been around since the 70s. It started as a group of leftist oriented schools that practiced taxpayer funding of private schools while opposing them ideologically. In my old Hispanic neighborhood one school was run by FALN (Lopez family); A 2d school by PSP (rival commie group, friends of Luis Guitierrez and SunTimes’ Neil Steinberg who often makes it to FR posts); a 3d school by Aspira (Democratic Socialist).
Other neighborhoods had their own schools in the ASN.
Not a problem!
Still a fun song, no matter how you slice it!
