A North Carolina country club turned into a fight club early Sunday morning after a brawl broke out that left one person dead and several others seriously injured.
Deputies responded to the Lakewood Country Club, near Salemburg, N.C., about 2:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving multiple calls reporting gunshots and a fight at the clubhouse, according to the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office.
“Responding deputies discovered several groups fighting upon their arrival and attempted to break up the fights,” a statement from the sheriff’s office said.

I have been to plenty of parties and weddings and alcohol was served and not one fight or murder. Parties are not for killing they are for fun and dancing :)
No kidding. I am just pulling up images of the “crowd” this place was rented out to...

For a club to be safe it needs to be VERY expensive.
Exclude no one unless they can’t cough up a 500,000 membership fee.
Learning experiences.
In these parts, people who rent space in this manner also have to pay for the services of an on-site local law enforcement officer. At one event we attended, hosted by Mexican friends, my husband took a plate of chicken and rice to the police officer, who was quite friendly.
“Family oriented” at 2AM. In my family, the only event going on at 2AM is everyone tucked into their beds fast asleep.
My best friend just got married in March. The couple in their 50's, first marriage for both. Joyful event. About 250 people at the reception. It was an Italian wedding, if you've been to one, you know what I mean. Open bar, tons of food, lots of dancing.
Fatalities - 0. (Okay, maybe a bit of indigestion, from over indulging, but that was it!)
Oh, and the reception was from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, not in the AM - maybe that's it.
