Laying out in plain sight? Or “plausible” deniability for what she sold treasonously? The “negligent handling” is bad enough but I think it is deliberate obfuscation of what she really did.

I’ll let her have the blindfold but the cigarette could negatively affect the health of the firing squad.

That level of security breach has a harsh penalty, regardless of whether the breach was intentional or unintentional.
