Nixon was honorable and loyal to his people to a fault. No democrats have been either honorable or loyal in my lifetime.
(Ps. I never liked Nixon. He was not a conservative, but a moderate republican who was protectionist and his wage and price freeze was awful )

Nixon was a decent guy and he had to overcome a lot of adversity to get to where he got. I read a couple of biographies of him and was impressed with how he always picked himself up after getting kicked down.
His downfall was his insecurity and his loyalty. Despite being on path for a landslide re-election in 1972, Nixon wanted to leave nothing to chance and thus the Watergate break-in and other "dirty tricks." Once the Watergate burglars were caught, Nixon stuck by them until it was too late to save himself. Proving that the coverup is always worse than the crime.
BTW, the dirty tricks of the Clintons make Nixon's antics seem like those of a boy scout.

No democrats have been either honorable or loyal in my lifetime. Truman was the last one I can recall.
