Is there some reason that 90% of my current programs will not work on W10?
Oh just upgrade then revert back to what ever windows you’re using the nag will be gone and you’ll be able to install windows 10 later , you don’t need product keys anymore for win 7 ,8 .8.1 and 10
any reason NOT to upgrade a tablet from 8.1 to 10? The tablet is mainly for couch surfing but does have MS Word on it. I have been avoiding the upgrade just because of the hassle factor.
I continue to be amazed at the Bruhaha regarding this. About the only case where, IMO, the complaint is valid, is if you have critical software known to be unable to run on Win 10. Perhaps there are Mom and Pop businesses that fall into this category. At an enterprise level it’s probably a non issue as well.
From a regular user standpoint...I can’t see what the big deal is. Win 10 will run better on old hardware versus XP or 7 AND be more stable. This whole thing is similar to the Win95/98 to Win NT/2000 changeover...only with more nagging from MS.
that “Never 10” app someone posted on FR sure works great!
Several months ago I decided to “modernize” and download W-10. What a crapload! I couldn’t find my email IN Box or my Address Book, and another item or two didn’t work.
So finally I threw in the towel, reverted my ‘puter back to its status the day PRIOR to downloading 10 (Windows 7) and vowed that if I ever used W-10 it would have to be when I sprung for a new ‘puter a few years down the road
.
I had a Windows 10 update forced on my computer yesterday and it has ruined my computer - now taking TEN MINUTES to start.
I hope those Windows 10 people burn in hell.
It is MY computer - NOT THEIRS.
.
My Win 7 machine has a “Free Anytime Upgrade” link but I haven’t been bothered by any of the notices/attempts to upgrade.
Update your computers and submit to the NSA or ‘ve vill turn off your computers,
To paraphrase Obama, “If you like your Windows 7 you can keep your Windows 10.” ;-)
I have found I am totally unable to update now. Once I get my updates, the check to start updating includes the “Start downloading your Windows 10 now”. I am afraid to do it. Always before it had a separate box which I could uncheck.

As a Windows 10 user, all I can say is, f*ck Microsoft. They obviously do not believe in liberty.
So, after July 29, MS will not only rape you but charge you for it.
This is what happens when society doesn’t discipline its children...they grow up to do irrational things like this thinking they are the most important issue for everyone else.
MS needs to be brought into court for a class-action suit.
Dumped Windows 8 two weeks ago. Went to Linux Mint, a little effort but worth it so far.
If all you use your “dot com” machine for is to surf the internet, just get a $200 Chromebook and use it until it breaks, rinse and repeat.
