It’s like a big welfare program. They’re expected to carry less productive people. Sort of like we do here in the USA.
We’re also expected to support all the illegals and refugees that elitists want to dump on us.
So... You’re saying that forcing people to support indigent neighbors doesn’t work??? But the poor neighbors still want it?? So... Human nature still exists??

“Angela Merkel’s country faces having to pay an extra £2.44billion a year to the annual EU budget once Britain has left.”
Oh, isn’t that interesting. Does that mean that the Brits have been paying an extra 2.44 billion lbs. more than they receive back...since I assume that money flow to and from the EU will cease in BOTH DIRECTIONS once Britain leaves. In other words, the loss of Britain should be REVENUE NEUTRAL, but it is not - so where does all this extra money that Britain has been gifting the EU go? Sounds like Britain was getting ROBBED BLIND by the EU.
(and that’s just Germany’s share...probably 8 billion when the other countries are counted)
Achtung baby! So federalism ain’t all it’s cracked up to be? Tell us about it you Teutonic titmice.
The UKs net contribution to the EU is about £10 billion a year. I guess that’s about £300 per taxpayer per year.
The gross contribution is about twice that.
Bloated, unaccountable dictatorships don’t come cheap.
Germany: “We cannot afford to pay our own way with our agendas - we need these other countries to help fund us - Heil Merkel!”
