"Every place I go, and everything I hear, there is the growing, growing sentiment that Gov Reagan cannot win the election." Ford said. "I hear more and more often that we don't want, can't afford to have a replay of 1964."

Ronald W. Reagan Republican 43,642,639
Jimmy Carter Democratic 35,480,948
Carter got schlonged.
It’s all just a little bit of history repeating....
And Trump vs Clinton is going to make that look like a close call.
Trump will mega schlong her.
I see history repeating itself. 2016 = 1980.
I’d like to think so.
But it’s tough not under estimating the stupidity of the left.
It's funny how the guys who played ball on the Warren Commission had long and powerful political careers, isn't it?
Another one who come to mind is "Scottish Law" Arlen Specter
In fact at the 1980 convention the Rockefeller wing wa trying to get Reagan to accept ford as his vp. The theory was Reagan could give speeches and ford could be president
Didn’t work but they did stick us with bush
I'm more worried about the GOPe throwing a wrench in the gears, but if they fail, and I think they will, Trump will prevail.
America and the world will become a better place because of it.
In my opinion, Ford was a first class dolt. He was in Washington too long, became quite complacent with being in the permanent congressional minority, and seemed to be quite pleased being invited to be part of a golf foursome with Tip O’Neill and that’s about all he got. There is a reason why Nixon picked him to replace Agnew - Ford was “acceptable” to the Democratic majority.
I’m hoping.
Donald Trump is the Ronald Reagan of this election. They may be different, but they both are delivering what our country needs.
you are correct; however American history sometimes has an asterisk to unusual things. David Pierce Atchison was actually acting President for less than a day in the 19th century. Seems the inauguration day (March 4th then) fell on a Sunday, and the incoming elected President refused to be sworn in on that day. Subsequently Atchison served as President for a day until such time that the new President was sworn in. He actually was probably one of the best CIC’ s we ever had, as he slept during his short tenure and did not cause any uproar during his term. Oh, for the good old days!
All I know is that if the voters in the country are either dumb or greedy enough to vote Hitlery into office then this country is finished. Something will have to give. Me and others like me, and there are millions of us, are fed up and can no longer abide by the constant barrage of liberal stupidity and the immoral vulgarity it promotes. I see the only option is for enough of us to relocate to a state that is big enough, strong enough, and strategically located and then with overwhelming numbers vote into office those who are committed to succession. I think Texas is the most likely state to begin the move to form the New Conservative Party and make it the center of the war on liberalism and of a New United States.
Great info.
Maybe not so great :)
It’s David Rice Atchison, not David Pierce Atchison.
Thanks.
thanks Mr. Finnegan....I knew that but I guess I got David Rice mixed up with Huey Pierce.
