Supergirl is putting a fresh (ahem) spin on the stunt-casting trope.
The now-CW drama has tapped erstwhile Wonder Woman Lynda Carter to recur in Season 2 as the President of the United States, TVLine has learned.
Last March, Supergirl EP Greg Berlanti revealed that he tried — and failed — to lasso Carter for a Season 1 guest stint, telling reporters he had a “perfect role” in mind for the TV icon, but they “couldn’t work out her schedule.” He called it the “biggest disappointment for me this entire season.” Berlanti later confirmed that the role was the “female president of the United States.”
Carter played TV’s Wonder Woman from 1975-1979. She’ll make her Supergirl debut in Season 2’s third episode, slated to air Oct. 24.
Should these be considered in kind commercials for the Hillary campaign?
Pray America wakes
Of course, it is to create the narrative that a woman president would be just what the country needs. They will show a poised, intelligent, attractive woman stepping into the office of president and doing a fantastic job, solving all of our problems. From this, we are supposed to internalize the message that Hillary, despite being the opposite of everything the fictional female president is, would be a great president and we need to vote for her.
Identity politics is killing us, I wish the Hollywood fiction writers were smart enough to realize that.
Has anyone noticed that (I believe) every Greg Berlanti show is trying to showcase either gay, lesbian , or both characters ?
Or am I just being a typical, ultra right wing, racist, nuclear bomb throwing, sexist, homophobe ?
Okay the “nuclear-bomb-throwing” made me do a double take....
Yea, and before that it was all black presidents. Next will be trani/gender-fluid/possible aquatic presidents.
They did the same thing last time with the Commander In Chief tv show starring Geena Davis, a huge lib.
EVERY SINGLE “entertainment” PROGRAM on the television has at least one “HFM” (homosexual friendly moment) every 10 minutes of airtime. My sister pointed that out to me last time I was visiting, and she was right! I wasn’t paying much attention, but I see it now.
Kryptonite posts?
Morgan Freeman as Thurgood Marshall.
That's what they're promised
This is what they get
You have a point, of course, but the pattern has a tendency to slip out of alignment when the witch shows up and opens her mouth.

I forgot to mention: Young people don’t watch TV.
“This is what they get”
That pic makes me miss Helen Thomas.
Well...Okay...
Linda Carter? Oh Yeah !! Would love to be in her admin. I could work under her.!
