“Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Sunday that law enforcement will release limited transcripts Monday from the three phone calls that Orlando shooter Omar Mateen had with police.
“They will talk about what he told law enforcement on the ground as the events were unfolding,” Lynch told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”
The Justice Department says the FBI and Orlando authorities, in coordination with the U.S. Attorney’s office, are expected on Monday to release a limited transcript of conversations Mateen had with authorities during the shooting as well as a timeline.
“He talked about his pledges of allegiance to a terrorist group. He talked about his motivations for why he was claiming at that time he was committing this horrific act. He talked about American policy in some ways,” Lynch said. In one of the call he pledged allegiance to ISIS, authorities have said.
“The reason why we’re going to limit these transcripts is to avoid re-victimizing those people that went through this horror. But it will contain the substance of his conversations,” she said.

They don’t want to “re-victimize” so they alter the killer’s reasoning?? How does that work? Is that similar to saying that Benghazi was due to a video?
A "cover up" is when information is hidden for the purpose of helping Republicans.
Of course, one might expect the Republicans in Congress to raise an outcry over this, but everyone knows that'll never happen.

The bombshell today is that he previously threatened a sheriff employee with getting him killed with his Al Qeada contacts. The FBI actually then ran an informant sting on him, but he never took the bait. Beginning to sound like the FBI knew this guy on a first name basis.
I think they should use an AH-U-GUH horn every time they say ISIS. We all will know what it is covering and can laugh at them. That would really piss Em off !

If this isn’t terroism, why is the DOJ involved? Isn’t a “mass shooting” a local law enforcement issue?
If they can’t cover everyone on “the list” 24/7, why bother with the list unless as a method of plausible deniability?

I have submitted an Open Records request with the City of Orlando for the audio. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.
It is not clear to me why the USAG should control the content. This is a state and local issue. The USAG’s statements today before a national TV audience make clear that the transcripts are being redacted for political reasons, and that they are not material to any ongoing investigations.
Pam Bondi is the Republican AG for Florida. She *should* be helping in this. We’ll see.
H’mm. I seem to remember that the media talked for decades about the “eighteen and one-half minute gap” in the Nixon Watergate tapes as if it were the crime of the century. I’m certain that the Washington post and New York Times and the broadcast channels will be all over this omission just like they were on that one.
