Friends it's Sunday night again and time to relax. Warm up the tubes for another 4 hours of classic radio Americana.
Info *tonight's show will be available at the "Info" link starting tomorrow.
Official OTR Blog of "The Big Broadcast" thread:
Longtime radio personality and The Big Broadcast host Ed Walker passed away early on Oct. 26 at age 83. We invite you to leave your thoughts and remembrances.
Ed Walker spent 65 years on the radio. His last program was unlike any other.
Looks like our new host wants to change things around, it's the second week with Dragnet at 9pm, wish he wouldn't do that. It's a Father's Day theme of course...My Favorite Husband...Great Gildersleeve...a new one, the Adventures of Father Brown, really looking forward to this...and ending with Lux...
How's the weekend? If you can say hello to Dad I hope you did...
I wrote a comment on the WAMU Big Broadcast page for today's lineup. I told them we would prefer they not mess with the lineup of the first three shows. He's done it for his first two shows. I'm afraid Murray is working toward eventually discarding Ed's way for his own idea of what the show should be.

Hi, Vision! It’s a nice day here, just the usual.
I’m with you on him messing with the lineup. Why would he do that? If he thinks it might keep people tuned in longer, I disagree. He’s liable to irk more people that way. I guess they’ll see my comment on their page, but no one has responded to it yet.
How about you? Did you go see your Dad?
No I called Dad, plan to visit the July 4th weekend- that Sunday I'll need you to host if you can.
Doing a lot of yard work. I'm seeing some tomatoes and eggplants bud...
I'm really interested in this Father Brown. Have you heard this show before?
I’ve not heard of Father Brown before. I hope this guy stands up and is true to Ed, but I have a feeling that’s not going to be the case. We’ll see.
I’ll be glad to host for you that weekend.
You’ll have some nice vegetables before you know it!
He was touchier than a bear with a boil. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Put some tomato tone on them tonight so with luck they're revving up...
Happy Father’s Day, Viking! You had a good one!
This new host’s voice is so similar to the last interim host. I’m not sure I’d have noticed the change. I missed Gunsmoke tonight, usually my favorite along with Dragnet. I see they dropped the college one.
Happy Father's Day!
Now, I'm off to see who is shooting at Capt. Chandler and the USS Nathan James this week........LOL
Yea, he dropped the Halls of Ivy. Did you like that? I love it.
