My worst recurring nightmare in life was being in wetlands crisscrossed with creeks and teaming with gators. Had that going on regularly for some years after I moved to Berlin. I avoid watching anything with gators because it was freaking annoying.
I can’t imagine it either..
Florida now has 1.2 Million Alligators and growing.
Thats about 1,199,990 Too Many IMHO.
It’s insanity to encourage these dinosaur Era predators to live in ponds, canals, lakes, rivers, waterways and golf courses, living among Florida’s 20+ Million inhabitants.
Hunt them to disappearance and relegate them to zoos, and alligator hide & meat farms.
You wanna see gators? Go to the zoo, or see them on tv.
Eff them.
RE: “I have a two year old. I cannot imagine the horror.”
Negligent? The authorities already cleared the parents in the gorilla episode, opening the way for them to cash in by suing the zoo. So here's an opportunity for ca-ching!
This is troubling. Wrong place, wrong time. I feel for the parents.
“Yeah, thatll help.”
You punish those who kill their kids.
“Again, WHERE WERE THE PARENTS???”
They were not parents. No parenting was involved. Just sperm and egg donors.
You are about the most ignorant rude bastid I have seen on this forum. You can’t count and you damned sure can’t read and understand.
This is a man-made lake bordered by hotels and the Magic Kingdom itself and used for watercraft. Gators are probably rare in that lake, especially big ones, and removed quickly by workers.
We watched over our kids like hawks, as did most of our extended families parents.
A two year old is very good at slipping away quietly in seconds.
That’s what likely happened here.
One minute they’re here, the next minute they started to wander off -
toward the water’s edge.
You knkw, conservatives are thought by much of world to be judgmental heartless compassionless black-n-white bass turds.
We know that Not to be the case, right?
Don’t add to the sorrow and grief of the loss by condemning that which you did not personally witness.
RE: “Again, WHERE WERE THE PARENTS???

That is tough to do. The local bias has to be such that a fair jury cannot be impaneled after the court has attempted to do so. That standard favors deep-pocketed defendants.
It’s just so horrifying for the mom and dad.
I have a pair of two year old grandkids and they can slip loose so easily and they are fearless.
It would be my goal afterwards to kill every gator I could find.
Negligent parenting results in deaths of many children. Nothing rude in pointing that out. Hopefully pointing it out (and punishing the guilty) will prevent future deaths.
“It would be my goal afterwards to kill every gator I could find.”
Sure, but it would be much easier and practical to just ensure the safety of the kids. “I don’t know where my kids went” is NOT a valid excuse. That is like leaving your kid in a hot car. “Durr aah dint no”
First saw the story at the Daily Mail.
JennyC, I apologize for coming across so snarky.
My smartass gland was acting up today.
Your rudeness is enabled by your stupidity. If you had read the article you would have known that both parents were close by and tried to rescue the child from the gator. Gators are fast and lightning quick, they can emerge from the water undetected until they attack. The family was on an outing at a Disney facility with no reasonable thought that a gator was even close to the area. Have you ever taken a kid fishing where the kid is standing maybe a foot away from the waters edge. It is not the parents fault and damn sure not the kids fault. Your overall ignorance about life in general is overwhelming and it shows in your stupid postings.
Not knowing the specifics but I would guess that the child was with the parents but that they were just close to the water. The gator would have targeted the smaller animal that could not give it as much of a fight.
Since the parents leapt right on it before it could escape they must have been right there with the youngster.
If they are from Nebraska they likely never even considered such a thing
happening.
Yeah, I know.
BTW, regarding hot cars and kids. My siblings and myself——who eventually numbered eight——were left in the car many times as kids. We were resident in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri,Virginia and five summers south of Phoenix. We never had a home with AC and certainly never had a car with one.
We may have perspired in the car but never expired. What could have been the difference back then as opposed to now? From listening to and reading journalchimp scribblers and babblers none of us should have survived.
