A Queens teacher won a $125,000 city settlement for injuries caused by out-of-control teens who also harassed her racially and sexually while school leaders did nothing to stop it, she says.
Kathy Perez suffered five herniated discs in her back, two in her neck and a torn meniscus in two incidents at MS 72 Catherine and Count Basie in Jamaica about 18 months apart.

I have personally experienced many of the things done to Perez. Very little was done to punish the students. The equivalent of wrist-slaps was probably the most severe punishment for students. Students look at teachers as prey in many NYC schools. They have less than zero respect for the teacher as an adult or as a teacher. They feel absolutely free to have at the teacher at will. I have been struck, threatened in innumerable ways, shoved, had a table leg swung around my head, had yard sticks poked into my face, had a male student routinely drop his trousers in the classroom when disciplined, had stuff thrown at me (some of it heavy) and strike me in the head or other body parts, been told I would be killed with a knife or gun, been told I'd be jumped after school, had attempts to vandalize my personal property, been told I didn't have to be listened to "because I was white", etc.

Wow. If at all possible, leave that hell. Come to rural America! Anywhere. Just get out!

In Minnesota the government's kids are beating the government teachers like bongo drums in Minnesota's government schools.
Not surprisingly, Minnesota's news media decries a "teacher disparity".
Everyone who has done 2 minutes of homework about teaching in the Twin Cities' government schools would be wise to move on, if only just for basic personal physical safety.

$125,000.00 is all she gets for such severe injuries?
She didn’t get much representation from her labor union.
I would have expected something closer to $7 Million Dollars, at the least. The stupid principal was most likely a minority or in complete sympathy with them, and delighted to see a ‘white’ teacher being abused that way.

The union is controlled by directives from the US Dept. of Education.
A few years ago the communiques came down from the Feds warning teachers and staff about the fundamental transformation in education in government schools.
Violent crimes committed by blacks shall be overlooked, or else.
It's not much more complicated than that.

The principal’s name tells me she is probably black.

It should have been 100X that amount. The only way to *get* their attention.

The union probably wanted that $7 million for the pensions. No sense in making her a 1%er.
Fining the school $7,000,000 would hurt the financial interests of the other teachers in the union.

This wasn’t a “mental anguish” case. There was real, permanent physical damage here obvious to anyone who can look at an x-ray, which is absolutely outrageous. Somehow the judgement doesn’t seem like enough.

$125,000?
Should’ve been $12.5 million.
She needed better attorneys.

"... been told I didn't have to be listened to "because I was white", ..."That was my experience also.
A ghetto student, destined for the dole and a life of crime, told me "My mama says I don't have to listen to you because you're white".
It is seared, SEARED I SAY, into my memory. It was then that I realized the entire system was geared against me, and civilization, in favor of savagery and a furtherance of the leftist agenda.
