He was not convicted of rape.
Nobody really knows what happened at all except in the last few seconds except for him. Well maybe not even him since he was drunk out of his mind too.
The girl admits she doesn’t remember anything. For all we know his story about it being drunken consented sexual tryst could be true.
He very well could be guilty or guilty in parts of what he is accused of but the facts of this case and what happened and to what degree are a lot more murky than what the media bandwagon is trying to whip up.
The judge presumably knows more about this case than almost anybody commenting and there is no evidence that he wanted to ‘let him off the hook’ other than ‘gut feelings’
He is still being punished, including the main punishment of being labeled a sex offender for life and having his name be infamous permanently.
Cases should be decided based on facts, not social media inquisitions. Especially inquisitions that the left is trying to parlay into a political advantage by pushing the fictional ‘all men are evil’ angle and for more guilt presumptive laws.
There were two witnesses who chased him down. One broke down on the stand having to testify on what he saw. This dude is a jerk. He only cared about losing his swimming spot.

Exactly right. This case is starting to look a lot more like the Spanish Inquisition.
Sorry but if you thing this case is a spun case of all men are evil you clearly have an intellectual or emotional defect.
There is no way you can take even his version(s) of events and walk away with the belief that he didn’t himself know he did something very wrong.
This isn’t a case of blacking out waking up beside each other and going oh crap. Did we? I think we did? Do you remember anything?
Youth and alcohol make for a bad mix often, but this isn’t a case of morning after regret being called rape.
So why did he run when confronted?
I have two questions:
Was she ever tested for the date rape drug?
After his arrest, was he swabbed to see if there was vaginal fluid on his private parts?
