A YOUNG driver who lost control of her car after hitting a wombat in Gippsland died at the scene of the crash last night, while two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
After losing control of her four door hatch, the driver in her 20s collided with an oncoming ute.
The driver was heading north along Inverloch-Korumburra Road in Wattle Bank, 130km east of Melbourne shortly before 8pm.
Occupants of the ute believed to be a man and a woman in their 30s suffered serious injuries following the collision and are now in hospital.
Police are now investigating.
This takes Victorias road toll to 130 for the year, compared to 111 this time last year.
That’s based on the Holden Commodore, as is the Chevy SS available in the US. GM could bring it here fairly easily, if they wanted to revive the El Camino.
Hodaka 125cc 'Combat Wombat' , a two stroke trail bike. This is a 1973 model. Hodaka was joint US / Japanese company that went out of business a few years after this picture. They were state of the art for their time.
I doubt I will ever have any other reason to post a picture of a Hodaka Combat Wombat, and this is a stretch!
They're real cute until they get you killed.
Gee, I thought a wombat was a woman combatant.
What killed that guy?
I still have a lot of trouble hearing ‘Wombat’ and not thinking of Brit 120mm recoiless rifles.
Good times.
A big stingray. Thought he was a predator (tiger shark most likely). Hit him with a 6” barb a 100 times in a few seconds (at least that’s what his friend diving with him at the time said.)
Uh oh! I'm in trouble now.
struth - no bloody escaping it, I tell ya - and that's a fair dinkum Bloody pommy bastards are everywhere
Probably tried to avoid killing the Wombat and got killed for her efforts - never leave your safe zone for the sake of an animal. I saw a guy leave the road to miss a small dog - he ended up in the dog owner’s living room, ‘69 Pontiac LeMans and all.....
car based utility truck, Think Chevy El Camino
