Now I know I'll get some haters for this post, it's cool. Tell me why you love your lands.
This guy was in my back yard. I was going to shoot him as he liked to dig divots in my yard. Changed my mind and took his picture.
You are my kind of woman. If I wasn’t already took I’d volunteer to help you make babies :)
But then I don’t really like chilluns anyway. You like cats right?
I’ll let you know if my situation changes :)
..then you thought he was cute, you gave him a pat on the head, and later found out you had contracted leprosy from that armadillo.
Texas..land of biblical plagues..
Rabies, dengue, west Nile virus,!eprosy, austin liberals, fire ants, africanized bees, scorpions, poisonous snakes, alligators..
Best not to come here.
Oh, I forgot bubonic plague, hanta virus, and chupacabras.

Thanks. LOL
Yes, I love cats. :)
I was born and raised in Texas but Arizona is the state that captured my heart.

Yeah. Right. I forgot. Don’t come here (at least not Lib rats)
My lands are Virginia. I decided I liked it here a whole lot after I discovered that open carry isn’t even controversial.
I live in Maine and I always hold the door open for people, especially women of all ages.
They always thank me. One older woman once asked me, “Are you married?” LOL
The smaller mom and pop type markets have bags of ice outside in freezers that are not locked, much like what you described in Texas.
The overall sunny, positive outlook of most Texans makes the Lone Star state stand apart. Take humblegunner as but one obvious example. :)
Mountains, deserts, piney woods, prairies, a million fresh water lakes for fishing, a thousand miles of coastline for saltwater fishing, offshore fishing, hunting lions, deer, elk, antelope, birds, and varmints.
There is one area in which I will say that Texas lacks.
Mu Texas girlfriend took me to the beach near Galveston. Having lived most of my life near the NW Florida beaches, I could not believe how awful those Texas beaches were.
The water was dirty brown as was the sand. My wife and I spent our homeymoon near Padre Island. It was a bit better but still not comparable to Seagrove.
Pretty good!
Amazing what a country boy will write a song about, ain’t it.
I loved my time stationed on the Lexington in Pensacola.
I loved going to the beach. Except when the life guards would kick me out of the water, just because a hurricane was going by.
I don't think so. I-30 ends west of Fort Worth when it runs into 20. Then 20 ends in west Texas between Pecos and Van Horn. The milepost at Texarkana should be in the 220-230 mile range.
If you want the highest numbered milepost, you have to come in on I-10 from Lake Charles.
I, too, live in Maine, but my soul longs to return to Texas. Maine is beautiful, but I’m done with long winters and the ever present winter possibility of slipping on the ice when I least expect it. We get to Texas once or twice a year, for a few days or a week at a time. And Arizona. And Georgia. The vast quietness and views in West Texas are the best, from my perspective.
I believe, if you went to Texarkana, you'd find that the mileposts on I-30 read the distance from El Paso (the New Mexico border, actually). And so does the milepost on I-20 at the Louisiana border.
West Texas Chuck, I have been in the same place. Panhandle of Texas...(Pampa). Nothing is more beautiful...except maybe over in the Hill Country during bluebonnet season!
Then you believe wrong.
Exits in Texas match the mileposts. The first exit in Texarkana is Exit 222. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.4703604,-94.0448224,3a,75y,233.29h,77.79t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s0DoNshgoxAUWbPGiqwuUSg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1
First Milepost I spotted 223. https://www.google.com/maps/@33.4698619,-94.0538365,3a,75y,268.28h,83.16t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1snhfOrZjHH8GbD8bjV2dXYw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1
Hmmm, must be the eyes of the beholder...
