CONCORD, N.H. (AP) The parents of an elite New Hampshire prep school student who says she was sexually assaulted as part of a game of sexual conquest are suing the school.
The parents lawyers say St. Pauls School failed to stop a tradition known as Senior Salute, in which upperclassmen kept score of how many younger students they had sex with.
Graduate Owen Labrie was convicted last year of misdemeanor sex assault charges. The Tunbridge, Vermont, resident was sentenced to a year in jail. Hes out on bail pending appeal.

A year in jail for rape?
Wow, have laws changed
I expect a Charlotte Observer editorial suggesting she just get used to it.
So the parents will ignore their easy-lay underclass daughter’s promiscuity but get upset about her partner gossiping about it?
When the roles are reversed they call it ‘Sex In The City’ and celebrate it.
Correction: I Missed the assault part.
But I was reminded of a ‘point game’ at a high school that caused similar outrage.
The article says the charge was a misdemeanor so they must have done a plea deal and avoided a trial on a more serious charge?
Yep. You are probably right. The girl must be some sort of whore. She should be flogged in public for being so stupid. Men should just be able to do what they want to a woman and they should love it.
Oh wait. That’s what the jihadist think. My bad.
Would someone please tell me what the hell is going on with kids in school these days? Raping as many underclassmen as possible and keeping score? This is something that has permeated our universities, with oversexed eighteen year olds running around rutting with almost any woman, but now it’s trickling down into high schoolers at schools where the annual tuition costs as much as a regular university. Now it’s not just begging/pleading/pressuring for sex, it’s now all about just plain raping as many as they can.
No, you had it right. The kid was CHARGED with sexual assault. As I understand it was not assault.
When I was in high school there were girls who did and girls who didn’t. Then later we found out a lot of those girls who didn’t really did but the guys they did it with didn’t brag about it.
Ain't that the truth.
“When I was in high school there were girls who did and girls who didnt. Then later we found out a lot of those girls who didnt really did but the guys they did it with didnt brag about it.”
Exactly. Take the Beavis and Butt-head types in school. You know they didn’t but they say they did, have to save face you know.
Forgetting this case for a moment, and to answer your question sincerely (and hopefully somewhat concisely):
The foibles, weaknesses, rites of passage, experiments, mistakes, and touch-a-hot-stove moments have never gone away and never will go away - for it is the way humans learn, it is the way our bodies and our minds respond to the advances of time. Experience is and will always be the best teacher.
But in our hermetically-sealed, strictly-monitored and yes, politically correct world as crafted by whacko leftists - who are themselves abnormal in every physical, mental and emotional sense of the word - these interactions by teens are part of what I call the Black Market Of Ideas And Actions (BMIA).
Kids are not dumb. They are also not easily cowed or controlled. Like generations before them they suss out where the boundaries are and live right on them, pushing them or ignoring them whenever supervision or reprisals are absent.
Today’s kids have learned an additional skill, namely the parroting of PC dogma to please the nasty old lesbian socialist teacher or professor. Smoking is bad. Junk food is deadly. Drinking can never be social in nature and involves only binges. Sex is rape, assault, imposition, patriarchy, etc. Racism is a crime worse than murder. You know the drill.
But kids still smoke, eat at McDonald’s, drink a couple of beers and live to tell the tale, occasionally (or frequently) use the N-word, and usually choose their cliques by race and/or socioeconomic status.
And yes, they have sex. Lots of it. Yes, readily-available extreme pornography warps their view of human relationships, but so does the constant drumbeat of the left that two lonely old gay men shacking up for reasons unknown have the same exact loving relationship as a heterosexual couple aged 20 about to get married, have a family, start jobs, etc.
The left has reduced sex to a mechanical, emotionless act in order to declare that all forms of sex with any and all partners are identical and valid and therefore all who engage in any form of sex are ‘equal’ and entitled to a plethora of freshly-minted rights (term borrowed from George Will). 50-something intellectuals might be able to discern what the leftists are talking about but impressionable and naive high school kids simply view it as a license to get it on.
This also why kids are so quick to spot and denounce so-called homophobia - their instinctive and common-sense knowledge that gay sex, especially sodomy, is aberrant behavior becomes a thoughtcrime so they gladly join the other side to mask their otherwise reasonable revulsion.
Parents want to be best friends with their children, so-called educators are scared to death of expressing disapproval or attempting to prevent bad behavior, even more so-called educators are encouraging kids to indulge themselves in the hope that hedonism will lead them down the path of liberalism.
The result: the Black Market of Ideas and Actions. BMIA means anything goes as long as you don’t get caught - then you are disowned by the mob. The odd case of sexting or Snapchat gone wrong gets the headlines but the reality is that 7/8 of the sexting iceberg remains unseen along with texts and every other form of communication discussing casual copulation, with girls as active as boys both physically and conversationally. Nature intended girls to intertwine sex and emotion via hormones but radical feminism tells them that such longing and/or dependency is a show of weakness and subservience. They end up in a cul-de-sac of cognitive dissonance and ultimately develop various dissociative disorders as they attempt to ignore their consciences. (’I don’t like to perform oral sex but guys expect it so I just try to get it over with as soon as possible’...’I wanted to wait until I graduated college or got married to have sex but my friends laughed at me for saying so’)
Boys, of course, are told they are evil predators interested in only one thing. Their view is: if I’m already guilty in this kangaroo court why not commit the act anyway? They have, literally, nothing to lose unless the law gets involved.
Mind you, I am not excusing or condoning any instances of assault, imposition, rape or ‘taking advantage’ (for lack of a better term) but it stands to reason that the vast majority of a huge number of sexual encounters among teens are consensual.
As usual, liberalism’s incessant attempts to destroy the family in favor of the all-powerful state (see also: tranny bathrooms, gay marriage, gay adoption, ‘child and protective services’, welfare, etc.) has corrosive, disastrous effects especially on the young and especially on the foolish who believe that the state wants any sort of positive, healthy outcome for them.
“cul-de-sac of cognitive dissonance”
Nice. Very nice.
I’m skeptical of your characterization in post #4 (the “easy-lay underclass daughters promiscuity”) since I don’t know the facts of the encounter; but I applaud everything you wrote so eloquently in post #13. And bravo.
They went up on the roof, she had sex with him, and then, after her parents found out, she screamed, “Rape!”
She’s the one who should be doing time.
1993 was also the year Mayor Dinkins had to tell NYC youts “Don’t dis your sis” in the public swimming pools.
Many of those girls really did not!
And some girls you heard did - guess what - they didn't.
You can't believe a word of what high school and college boys say.
The headmaster, senior faculty and the board of trustees should be put in prison over this, which is nothing more than a statutory rape mill.
I said a “lot” of the girls really did. Sadly some girls today will tell it themselves. A “some”, not all.
