Open the pod bay door, HAL.

I saw that movie first run when I was about 12 on a YUGE! screen it one of the old Cinema theaters. It made quite an impression.

Same here. I was 12 also. The Clairidge theatre in Montclair, N.J. It was a Cinerama road show. Single projection 70 MM print. HUGE!

It made quite an impression.

I saw it in my early 20's and it made a huge impression on me as well. It also set the bar for following SF movies.

Those were Cinerama screens. Multiple cameras filming and multiple projectors. I saw Grand Prix in Cinerama in the summer of ‘67.
