Did you hear that? It's amazing the income tax was ever that high. I've heard that before but forgot.

Vision, I’m sorry I forgot to check back in last night. We tuned out when Ivy started, and I didn’t come back to the thread.
On the ice cream, nothing changed my mind. I just read the recipe, and it sounds like ordinary vanilla ice cream. I still don’t know what the reason for adding olive oil is, though.
I didn’t hear the income tax reference, but back during and after WWII, income tax rates were obscenely high, over 90 percent for some people. Congress didn’t go along with it, but Roosevelt wanted 100 percent of incomes over 25-thousand. INSANE. What’s worse is that the Sixteenth Amendment (originally) did not include people’s paychecks. How we ended up here, working for the federal government with our salaries, is an evil story, indeed.
I hope you have a good week, Vision!

Evening folks. Trying to jump in where I can......got family here for an old-fashioned cookout (two smoked Boston butts, beans, grilled corn, sweet tea, beer, bourbon Southern pecan ice cream, the whole Southern-picnic spread) and everyone is taking advantage of a sparkling swimming pool that took a paycheck's worth of chemicals and a lot of sweat to ready for the season. Vision, your obsession with gardening is not the worst hobby to have. We have two kinds of tomatoes, four kinds of hot pepper, two kinds of bell pepper, corn, pole beans, squash, eggplant, and beets in so far, and we're not done. And Heaven help me, I found a place locally where they have two olive trees left in their garden center. If they're still there payday, one of them - if not both - are mine. I don't know where I'll plant them yet, and I gotta research a little to see what soil requirements they need, if they're self-pollinating, etc., but they may be mine, even if we have to pot them and put them in our courtyard. Which already looks like an arboretum. Jeez, I got two pecan trees that'll need planted in a year or two, and I'm not sure where they're going in yet! LOL
