Maroon 5 cancel North Carolina shows to protest anti-LGBT bill

Maroon 5 are the latest band to cancel shows in North Carolina because of the state's anti-LGBT bill.
"We have announced that we will be canceling our upcoming shows in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina because of the recent passage of the HB2 legislation," the band said in a statement on their website. "This was a difficult decision for us to make as a band. We don't want to penalize our fans in North Carolina by not performing for them, but in the end it comes down to what we feel is morally right."

So why boycott NC and not Moscow, tour date June 3, and Antalya Turkey, June 9. Russia has no civil unions or marriage, no civil rights protection, and unlike in the US there have been systematic assaults against LGBTs. The situation for LGBTs in Turkey is on par with Russia, which is zero.

Living in NC, I love it! No more crappy concerts from old washed up bands for people to waste money on.
They will spend those dollars on other things within our state and help the local economy!
These crappy bands are just looking for publicity because they cannot sell albums.
