We have “food deserts” because there is simply no way to operate profitably in certain areas; between the constant shoplifting and the risk of being looted/burned, there is simply no incentive to operate there. The pressure on business owners in Venezuela has done it nationally down there...
Socialism is only a transitory state to Communism ... it’s only a matter of the amount of time for the failure before the guns come out (police and military) and are turned on the “gunless” masses.
I feel sorry for the people of North Korea, too, but their leadership needs to be nuked out of existence. Venezuela just needs a good, old-fashioned right-wing military coup.
