It probably has something to do with this program.

A good STEM idea if correctly run.

There's Davis Aerospace Technical High School, 900 Dickerson | Detroit, MI 48215. The website shows what looks like a Cessna 172.

Long Beach had a Beechcraft years ago, but it was part of the aeronautics classes at the City College.

It’s too dangerous to drive between schools.

It greatly assists the bureaucrats money laundering operation ... can get it out of country in hours instead of days.

I wouldn’t get too excited. You can get one of those for less than most new cars.

Uhhh, the words fast, speedy and quick do not belong with Cessna 172 in the same sentence.

I started lessons in 1872 in a 150 Cessna. I soloed with 5.5 hours and as soon as I went up by myself the next day for touch-n-go's, I decided I didn't like flying a kite. The 150 was too light, and it was a cross-windy day at ILM. So, I got checked out with the 172 and never looked back.

The guy that ran the fixed base's father was chief pilot for WR Grace. He graduated from KingAir to their first LearJet, a 28G. When he came to visit, I got to ride along, and my friend got to sit left seat. He took off and did the piloting until we were landing. After cruising out past Wrightsville Beach, we returned to ILM and landed. We taxied to the runway head, and his dad asked if I wanted to give it a try.

I moved up to the left seat, and got to take off. WOW! It was a shorter flight, but indelible in my memory! I made it up to 850 hours in 172;s, and even added about 30 hours in a 310, but a burgeoning family caused me to end that phase of my life. Buying a house became the most important thing!

Memories!

A Cessna 172 is not exactly “indulgence”.

Think “1967 Corolla with wings”. And a loud muffler. But faster...

I got somewhere around 1500. Was a CFII in southern Calif for 13 or 14 years. Heres an offhand reference to it.

Don’t get old. I initially took the 1972 as your tt, total time. You were correcting a typo. But the coincidence. I started my flying in ‘73. Got my private and then they asked me if I had been in the military. Got the next 5 ratings on Uncle Sam and started teaching.
