Note that whenever a person presents with a gun injury the ER always calls the police. Always.

Then the police try to build a case - either against a perp or against YOU.

So if you just had an innocent run in with a bullet like this guy, the police will be all over you like a bug, but you are not under any obligation to talk to them. My policy is not to talk to them unless it is in my best interest or the best interest of innocent people who are experiencing injustice.

The police rarely improve a situation.

The subject in this story is guilty of illegal discharge of a firearm, and if he talked enough, most police departments would use that to charge him. Looks like this department did not.

The guy is an idiot for reporting it. A through-and-through wound, that he didn’t feel happen, took three days to discover and was barely bleeding. Put a freaking bandaid on it and never tell anyone how stupid you are. lol
