Roseville, Ca. - For two years, 7-year-old Vinny Desautels grew out his hair to help kids with cancer.
"I want to help people so they don't have to go to the doctors to fight cancer."
Thirteen inches of hair was gone with the snip of some scissors.
"And then everyone got excited when mom cut the ponytails off. I was happy," Vinny said.
But life can sometimes take a cruel turn.
"My eye was getting heavy."
"It is Stage 4 aggressive cancer," said Jason.
A little boy who gave selflessly to help those suffering with cancer is now battling the disease himself.

My daughter used to grow her hair out and donate it to “Locks of Love” for people that lost their hair with chemo treatments. She did it 3 or 4 times.
Well there goes my evening.
God bless the little guy.
(Two of my grandaughters donated hair.)
.
my wife has done this for 25 years. Her hair grows fast.
Vinny is the definition of great and the definition of success in life. He’s shown more at 7 years of age than most of us show in a lifetime.
Prayers for the little guy.
That’s just sad.
But, while we’re on this subject. I’d like to know who gets these hair donations. A real hair wig costs about 1500 to cancer patients. I chose to wear a scarf. I don’t have a single friend who has benefited from Licks of love.
Please read my post #7. Something fishy going on with them. My friends donated there too. It hit me, why the heck do I have to pay 1500-3000 for a real hair wig when people are donating. Who is getting the donations? Because I didn’t and neither have my cancer friends. I got a fake 35 dollar one. It was uncomfortable so I went with a scarf. Just something to research and/or think about.
