The little one will be in my prayers. And please try to make peace with the mother here, even if it's only temporary, and even if you are called all sorts of names by her. Your family needs to work as a team here.
There has been a wide breach in the family that at this point does not appear to unbreachable(sp?) even temporarily. The mother has issues and she refuses to listen to anybody. It is sad because she is ruining her life and right now her daughter needs her to make good decisions for her and she is not. It appears she is more concerned with her own pride/issues.
