Marvel's new movie Doctor Strange may have changed the Ancient One from a Tibetan man to a Celtic white woman to appease China. That's at least was Doctor Strange writer C. Robert Cargill suggested on the Double Toasted podcast. Or was this another example of Hollywood whitewashing—giving Asian roles to white actors?

LOL. My point is that the scum in Hollywood could care less about being loyal to the US. It is all the bottom line to them just as it is to most international corporations, e.g., Apple. They want the US to protect their intellectual property rights, but they have no allegiance to this country.

Hollywood is of course doing this. Henry Kissinger as a consultant has been a go between who advocates this.
It seldom happens and the ChiComs are an exception in their demands. The NAZI’s did the same thing and Hollywood did capitulate even then, before the war.
What the ChiComs are doing now goes beyond anything in the past, or with other countries.
Generally, studios would make a print with edits or modifications for distribution in other countries if something was objected to.
But the entire film was not changed everywhere. Or in the case now, at the production or pre-production stage when the communists are demanding the movie be made in a certain manner with ChiCom affirming sensibilities.
And of course the Hollywood freaks are happy to comply, that’s a captain obvious point.
Your comments make it sound like you have no problem with the Chinese demanding this.
No other large market does this. Japan does not. Europe does not and they are as large markets.
You still don't get it. International markets are more imoportant to Hollywood than the US. It is becoming increasingly so.
The issue is not just China or some other markets asking to change or modify the content, it is SELF-CENSORSHIP, the worst censorship of all. It happens elsewhere in the media when covering Islam and muslims. How many US papers dared to publish an of the Danish cartoons, that resulted in rioting and attacks against Westerners throughout the world?
The Chinese don't have to order Hollywood to do anything. They will do their bidding themselves ensuring that their films can penetrate the Chinese market. And the Chinese are not the only ones that impact censorship. Hell, Obama and Hillary blamed an internet video for Benghazi and had the film maker arrested. Ask Pam Geller how the media covers her activities.

I said I am against all censorship, including self-censorship. I described to you the reality, i.e., the facts. I have no idea why you conclude that I accept this as being legitimate. You are just trying to pick a fight for whatever reason.

You are wrong about what is happening with regard to China.
The Chinese are ordering them what to do and it is unique to China.
I mentioned Kissinger associates who act as a liaison between the ChiComs and the studios to inform them of the ChiCom demands for market access.
The ChiComs are very actively telling the studios what to do. It is not pure self censorship.
This is because Hollywood would self censor but do not know how to with respect to the ChiCom sensibilities.
You are right that Hollywood self censors, with political correctness etc...
I am not wrong about China. You can call it order as the author of the piece is concerned, but it is really pressure and the PRC has the leverage as do the other international market players.
If you saw the 60 minutes piece a few weeks ago, China is in the process of creating its own film studios that will hire American writers, actors, directors, etc. to produce these films. They will be competing directly with the US and the West in terms of producing films.
