God, though, doesn’t she look like one of them?
They were drugged out losers for the most part. Quite a number of them got killed by Manson himself or at his command.
Looks like she was already working on her “what difference does it make?” gesture even back then.
I think it was out there, when I saw the picture I knew I had seen it before, in fact it was very familiar so I have probably seen it a few times in the past. I think there was no real evidence, just hunches to link her to Manson.
Susan Atkins is dead. Died of cancer a few years ago. I think it’s either Krenwinkle or Van Houten.
Probably some from column A and some from column B.
Good as explanation as any .gov has!
The article says: “Police said they used DNA to identify Jurvetson after her sister recognized a photo posted of the young woman’s body online.”
Wasn’t the picture put into the newspaper back then, when the woman was initially found dead? If not, why not? If so, why wouldn’t the family speak up then? That seems so strange to me.
Back a few years ago when my family member was first murdered and we couldn’t find her, I was rummaging through several missing person sites when I spotted a photograph of a young woman from Massachusetts who had been murdered in Houston, Tx.
I recognized the photo, because my husband was the one who took that photo. He used to do portfolios for aspiring models and so he still had several proofs that didn’t make the cut for quality. It was shocking to learn this young woman had been murdered 10 years prior to my finding her photo online.
I’m glad they found and identified the woman in the op. It’s hell when family goes missing for that long. You can never rest.
Atkins, if I recall correctly, died in prison a year or three ago. The one slated for parole is Leslie Van Houten, who Mike Ferrell has been trying to spring for decades, and in my mind, not so coincidentally, was the only one who was not involved in the Tate murders, but in the deaths of Rosemary and Leo Lo Bianco, who were *not* Hollywood glitterati, like most of the others...
the infowarrior
LOL we have no *proof*, if that’s what you mean...
It sure ain’t killed
2000X365=730,000 murders a year
14-25,000 folks are actually murdered annually
That stat is a canard
Like 25% of women have been sexually assaulted or 35% on campus
Lies
Thanks!
That is why it should not be illegal to have firearms almost anywhere.
A lot of wasted tax payer money. A short rope and long drop would have saved a lot of wealth and trouble. Plu, it could have been sustainably reused.
They were in Montreal, she was in LA. In 1969 newspapers from another country, even big newspapers from big cities, weren’t that easy to get a hold of.
Ok; that’s for the update. I lose track of these Manson freaks
I've heard figures like this before, including some peared down to discount spouse flight, etc., but I can't remember ever hearing someone sourcing such figures.
Can you cite any credible references for 730,000 "desaparecidos" in the US every year?
That's a lot worse than Chile after Pinochet.
“reported” missing:

I was pretty interested in the Manson craziness. Of all things a neighbor girl from a ranch near us ran away and ended up with them. She did not stay long and came home to her family a short time before the Tate/LaBianca murders. That made quite an impression on me, she was older than me and would not talk about any of what she went through but police questioned her after the murders were linked to that bunch to see if she knew anything of interest to them.
My dad used to listen to the radio at night after we all went to bed, when it was all being put together he woke us up one night to tell us the hippies were killing people in California.
I became pretty interested and read quite a bit about it. I always thought that group murdered far more people than anyone knew.
Reported missing is a huge number but I see missing people posts all the time on Facebook. I always search the name to see if it is a hoax or if they have been found before sharing them and nearly always the person was found within a few days of going missing.
I have no idea how many people really go missing as opposed to “misplaced” for a few days (ha ha didn’t know how else to put that) but it would be interesting to know.
