New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension is for now back on, per Reuters. The Second Circuit court has ruled in favor of the NFL, ordering the district court and The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit overturned last years ruling by U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman to to enforce that Brady miss the first quarter of the 2016 season.
NFL commissioner still holds the right to rescind the four-game punishment and declined to say last week if he'd enforce Bradys suspension this season if the appeal was won, as it was. A fine is also possible, per Goodell's discretion, but many believe that Brady will have to sit out the four games.

Is this satire?
No, did you click the link?
Is this going to the Supreme Court?
Someone once said, “At this point what difference does it make”
Sore Loserman
Just means he’ll be fresher come playoff time.
Seriously? No. Unless you consider Goodell the Supreme Court. This is done. Goodell will not overturn.
It will be appealed to the full Circuit. Goodell got away with limiting the appeal criteria, so I expect the player union and Brady to counter. By the time the appeals are exhausted, Brady will have retired.
Interesting. I think the original judge over-reached, but it will be very interesting see how this plays out. The original judge basically said the NFL cannot suspend a player for any reason unless it’s 100% in the letters of the labor agreement. This concept seems too restrictive to me, as it ties their hands with anything that has not been done before. The NFL should have leeway to handle rules broken in the game. Wherever one stands on this issue with Brady, and I can see a range of positions here, the judges decision was very heavy handed in the favor of players.
The NFL and Patriots really need to come to a reasonable compromise here. The loss of the first round draft pick this week is huge in itself. The NFL should be willing to cut the penalty, and Brady should back off his stand and accept 1-2 games and consider it a nice break from the 16 game schedule to save more for the post-season.
First - I think all this is a reflection of how off the rails the NFL is.
Next, regarding your tagline - I’ve always thought Jeb would be waiting in the wings to come out from (seemingly) nowhere to get the nod.
The Bush’s will end up having their way.
The last time this all surfaced, I thought Robert Kraft said there would be no appeal because he wanted to move past it. I thought he said they’d take whatever penalty they were given and just move on.
I believe Tom Brady accidentally smashed his cell phone just like I believe Hillary about anything.
And if the suspension stands, Brady’s first game back will be in Cleveland against the Browns.
Yeah, I think the cell phone issue was a major reason why the suspension was upheld. Brady's explanation was just not credible.
Goodell is going to be angry. He had this all wrapped up to Kraft’s satisfaction. Brady was never supposed to get punishment, that was just intended to appease other owners.
what is all this about a cell phone? I dont remember anything about a cell phone
Let’s see- We have a secretary of state neglect her duty ot protect our ambassadors overseas, then turn around and flat out lie about what caused their deaths, and lie repeatedly for months, and then coldly say “What diff does it make”, She puts the nation at risk by using her home computer as her personal un-secured work computer, lied about it for months, then begrudgingly admitted to it but excused her illegal act as ‘no big deal’- and the media can’t be bothered with any of it- and then we have a quarterback w2ho let 3/10 of an pound of air out of a football, and the media are treating it as though it’s a major issue? A major defining moment in our nation’s history? Really?
The NFL under Goodell is more and more a corrupt organization.
This should be a lesson for those who want the courts to make decisions...it doesn’t always go your way
