Participants in the simulation were given a pretend name and age, a few property items, and a blindfold for use in simulation exercises. They were then divided into small groups and went through the course designed to raise awareness.
Some of the simulation courses in which the students participated in, included crossing border lines, being interviewed, and being placed in an asylum room.
The student publication, the Marquette Wire, reported that “Guards led every course and scenario, yelling at the participants and treating them similarly to how migrants and refugees are treated.

A better simulation would be this. Remove the doors from the living quarters of all the students involved. Then encourage random members of the community to enter those living quarters whenever they want.
The “visitors” (we’ll call them “undocumented tenants”) can stay as long as they want, and take whatever they want.
This would give those students a more accurate picture of the situation.
The refugees in Europe seem to be the ones yelling and abusing. Did the college cover that? They walk into someone else’s country and expect the to be totally cared for. Reminds me of a segment of our welfare class here who can’t be given enough and destroy what they are given.
That is a class I would not pay for as a parent.
