Well, NOOB, here's the thing. You can skip any thread that doesn't interest you.
As a respite from politics 24/7, a change of topic is welcome and a large number of Freepers are interested in this particular technological achievement, specially when the event is being covered live.

Suggest you get ROKU. Added the new channels SKOPE and Animal Planet Live yesterday. Stayed up all night watching kiladascope patterns and a live Roach cam from New Orleans.

Some of the best TV I have seen in years.
