played drums starting at 10. Passed out from vodka at 15 while at a party playing a gig with a band.
I would just get into another world and play and drink and play and drink.
It was not all the time, but it happened.
Best songs I wrote were during episodes of intense love or a girl or intense tragedy.
Ah, that explains the genius.
BTW, these non violent drug dealers, like the ones I had in my cab too, shouldn’t do any prison.
They should get paid 1000 a month to not sell drugs /s
that really is happening somewhere I think.
Amen.

I just have to say I always enjoy reading your thoughtful posts, with the one sentence paragraphs. It’s great to still have some quality writers and thinkers on FR. From politics to artistic commentary, I admire your brevity and intelligence.
I’ve long been a frustrated songwriter—I love my stuff but I don’t think many others do. But you’re right, when you come up with something magical, it’s a great feeling—even if you are the only one who might think so.
I had a total hip replacement 15 years ago. I got full anesthesia and ended up with no need for a transfusion as there was no abnormal bleeding during or after the operation. But there was blood on hand, just in case, I was told. Got it done at the old Walter Reed Army Hospital. I still have that replacement hip and am doing well with it. My Army doctor checked it out 2 years ago and said that it is good for another 15 years; as long as my bones don’t get brittle.
“Making it illegal inevitably creates a flourish in black market run by really, really bad people.”
1. Making it legal would open up an even larger black market due to the acceptance of the drugs. And the bad people can always make it cheaper and more deadly
“Laws cant change human nature. A certain percentage of the population will ingest mind altering substances regardless of its legality.”
2. An even larger percentage of the population would become addicted if they were legal.
“Legalizing it will actually make it more difficult for minors to obtain it.”
3. see #1
The more people that are exposed to addictive drugs, the more people will become addicts and more people will die from overdose.
Afraid we will all hear the guy was saturated with narcotics
Yea, looks like he self medicated himself. Real bad idea there with those type of drugs.
Wow, well said.
Elvis also died in the grips of addiction to prescription medications.
“Oh I’m a Jehovah’s Witness, I don’t do drugs...”
Jackson quit the JW...
“What you puttin’ in your nose, is that where
your money goes?”—”Pop Life”
To take the profit out of drugs. Take the corruption out of drug funded politicians.
Legalize drugs. Give them away free. No profit in the drug trade, no drug crime. Simple.
The war on drugs has failed. Miserably.
Spend the money on therapy. Counseling.
Because it is a God given instinct / right to seek relief from pain sickness and misery.
Govt dictating what when and how is tyrannical.
Why again do tyrants want to control others? For our own good? Are ya here to help?
I should have added “years” but did not put in any number. Perhaps you were thinking of someone else.
I thought Jehova’s didn’t use any sort of drugs
Imagine that. How many young rock stars have died over the past several yearsfrom drugs/alcohol mixes?
