Well, well, well .....
I don’t know who Robert Morris is, but I’m sure he’s a good man seeing that he has a heart to teach stewardship.
This is what I go by in my giving:
“when you give, don’t let the left hand know what the right hand is doing ... so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
I’m not trying to tell anyone else how to interpret that, but as for me, I’m not sure how I would go about following that scriptural advice if my pastor and the church’s accountant know what my giving is.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t tell anyone to ignore Mr. Morris’ stewardship advice if they believe they’d be in disobedience to G_d, as that’s the main thing. If you believe you should get your deduction and distribute it to the charities you mentioned, you should do so.
But others may hold to different scriptures on giving. It’s between them (possibly their spouse) and G_d.
Paul says that since we have grace and it abounds, should we sin all the more? Certainly not! or heaven forbid!, depending on your translation.
Read my previous post..........not my pastor.
Furthermore, I don’t know what his alternative was, I didn’t care enough to read the article.
Neither has Charles Manson.
I’ve never considered the bald assertion of vice to be a virtue or admirable.
Each to his own.
Oh, c’mon. Trump’s life story and priorities are what make him want to be the greatest President ever. How the heck does that compare with Charles Manson?
Greatest President ever?
You are too far gone to help.
How have I gone "too far to help" by connecting Trump's aspirations and ambition with what he would strive to accomplish?
Ah are you NOT the one that sat in judgment trying to necklace Trump as being a narcissist.. GET a mirror.
If Trump isn’t a narcisist, they don’t exist.
How am I a narcisist? 3, 2, 1, go
Oh, yea. Washington, Adams, and Madison. He’s so in the running.
Ah that cloud of judgment you sit upon. You are the epitome of a narcissistic personality disorder.
>> Isnt part of their religion an expectation to tithe?
Do you have specific New and Old Testament references in mind for supporting that doctrinal assertion?
“He per ports to be a man of God, loves Jesus, etc.”
Then take him at his word and be guiltless. It’s true that no Christian is perfect. We all have a past, and we’re all works in progress even after salvation, some growing spiritually at a faster rate than others. But so what. If he truly loves the Lord, he’ll make it.
Of course he's stingy. There is no other way to give to your church. Everyone knows that.
So you don’t know what the word means. Typical.
So you think churches can operate without tithes from its members?
Have you read Acts and what Jesus’s own disciples required to operate the church?
I guess you think phony teddy is the best because he shirks his responsibilty as a better-off person to help those who are worse off but attend his church.
Fine, I know a 5 year old that wants to be Superman. Who am I to question the enthusiasm.
If you don't worship at the Altar of the Trump Tower, then you are every name in the book.
