The story I heard is that the recipient is actually Cruz’s campaign aide who collects everything given to Cruz. In this case, everything was a child’s drawing and a $5 campaign donation.
That relationship has not been substantiated. Not like Dunkin' Donald "donating to" pols and "doing bid'ness" in Noo Yawk.

Could be, it just seemed odd how Cruz apparently tried to hide the bill under the paper. Identifying who the guy he passed it to should clear the matter up.
I’m sure that’s exactly what it was, but it does make for a funny headline.
Cruz fact check ping.
Theres A Video Going Around Of Cruz Allegedly Bribing A Delegate. Heres The Real Story
http://dailycaller.com/2016/04/22/cruz-campaign-refutes-video-claiming-he-passed-money-to-delegate-video/#ixzz46cTEUbRP
People will see what they want to see. I saw the video the other day and if it was me handing someone bribe money I would be looking around to see if anyone was watching. The best way to do it is to simply offer a room in a hotel, or a day at the country club and write it off my taxes.
There's always a story with Cruz's misdeeds, isn't there? In this case, what about campaign finance laws? If anyone just gave them cash, they'd have to return it.
"The delegate is Bruce Redden, a Cruz staffer, collecting things that people hand Ted Cruz as he shakes hands, signs books, and takes pictures after every event, Phillips told TheDC. The money is a $5 donation that a supporter gave to their small child to hand to the senator, along with a picture the child drew.
It was actually a great moment and indicative of the kind of amazing support we have from the grassroots, he said.
