the article is misleading... the electoral college has NOTHING to do with the GOP primaries..
the trump issue is
WY CO
the voters NEVER GOT TO VOTE
never pulled the lever for anyone...
far as trump taking winner take all and otheres get zero.....
who set that up?
not trump...
HIS POINT IS, IF VOTERS DONT GET TO VOTE....IT’S RIGGED...THAT’S ALL
It sounds like he’s saying Cruz and his GOP pals are working hard to loot delegates, while Trump isn’t so Trump should be quiet.
Grifters have a similiar attitude when referring to a ‘mark’: “That’s my money in his wallet.”
Sounds like Michael Reagan is treating the GOPe the same as the Founding Fathers. That’s insulting to the Founding Fathers.
No matter what Trump has said, no matter how crass he has been, it is nothing compared to the unprincipled leadership in the GOPe, the lack of leadership in Congress, and the lilly-livered way Congress has folded to the active conversion to Marxism perpetrated by the current occupant of the White Crib. I blame McConnell, Boehner, Ryan, Romney, McCain, Graham, Rubio, and the Gang of Eight shenanigans. Trump is a symptom, not a disease. Mikey has it wrong - the GOPe is dysfunctional and lacks any desire for introspection. Reince will be officiating at the funeral of a big dead elephant in Cleveland unless they kiss and make up with Trump and unify the party. Perhaps then there can be an enema and clear out the GOPe and the corrupt donor class.
What this putz pretends not to get - see tagline...the bottomline.
Who would’a thunk that all of Reagan’s kids would turn out to be dopes?
Must have been the influence of the Hollywood years.
Cruz lost. So let’s all campaign for Hillary. Yay, Hillary, go Hillary. WooHoo Hillary. You go girl.
Can’t bribe an elector to change his vote.
“Trump people” don’t get worried about what douches like Michael Reagan say about them.
I can’t believe Michael Reagan is this stupid. In the Presidential election everyone got to vote in every state for the electoral college.
In the primaries not everyone gets to vote in every state for every delegate. Take Pennsylvania. The voters only get to choose 17 of 71 delegates. Colorado is another example of a screwed up state. The system is rigged in favor of the Republican club.
Trump people kill me.
I heard one of the local “conservative talkers” here defend the whole “play the game or your claim is lame” line the other day. He’s been a player in our state GOP.
I like the way the guy thinks on most issues, and to hear him defend the system was interesting. There was the poll tax in commitment and organization argument, that individuals and campaigns too lazy and disorganized to play the game deserved to lose. There was the fairness argument, that the rules were known to one and all. It was a pretty good argument.
What stuck with me, though, was not his logic or his words. It was his tone. A condescending note, with just a hint of suppressed anger and exasperation. It was extremely grating.
That tone stuck with me, and it made me instantly want to oppose him.
I don’t know if Mr. “Art of the Deal” is clever enough to set them up, but those who attack Trump with this tone in their presentation are solidifying the Trump base, if not adding to it.
They are working to elect Trump, for free, or in some cases, on his opponent’s dime, but they seem incapable of losing the tone.
I can’t recall anything quite like it.
At this point, I think Cruz is through. I think now the choice is between Trump or another nightmare like McCain or Romney. I refused to vote for Romney and I will refuse to vote for Karl Rove's next creation.
Reality is our friend. The time has come to get behind Trump.
Good comments from Michael Reagan. I’ve always considered him to be level-headed and Conservative. ...Thanks
Yes! It is almost criminal how Trump is inciting violence in what he thinks is a subtle way.
Gee, I hope my followers don’t go all postal if I’m cheated at the Convention.
The system has worked in Trump’s favor a lot and nobody mentions it ... at least trumpers don’t.
He won tons of delegates in early states when he didn’t get much over 35% of the vote.
He won tons of delegates in New York with fewer votes than Ted Cruz got in Wisconsin.
It’s only when he gets outmaneuvered that he starts whining and crying.
Impatiently waiting with little expectation.
What aa bellyacher. A disgrace to his name!
I hope Michael Reagan doesn't go all Levin too...
Rice Bowl Threat Alert.
“The Founding Founders & Framers knew what they were doing when they set up the Electoral College to indirectly choose the president.”
Certainly Michael isn’t comparing state party bosses to the Founding Fathers & Framers, is he?
There is a single process, nationwide, to elect the POTUS. There are nearly 100 ways to select delegates to do the nominating. Each state has (at least) two parties, each with different rules. This is apples and oranges and I am frankly disappointed in Michael Reagan for so poorly understanding the reaction of mere commoners to the way some of the states choose to select their delegates.
