Had mine for about a year. Love it. I did put a zagg screen protector on it as I do tend to swing my arm when walking. It DOES NOT replace the iPhone, it is a great addition. I have the 42mm Black with sport band. Love the sport band. Watch weighs very little and is totally comfortable. I would buy mine again.

Just got one two weeks ago. It’s pretty cool. I like the health app. Tells your heart beat. You can read email, texts, etc without opening your phone. Remember, it doesn’t replace the phone, it has to be nearby and the screen is small so games are kinda out of the question.

Great extension to the iPhone. If you’re inclined to get one now, do so. If you’re still hesitating, wait for the next version (and buy it as fast as you can).

Apple is a has-been company living off cash flow.

They are dropping prices, which is something very unusual for them.

Unless you are invested in the crumbling Apple Infrastructure you can maybe do better.

I've had mine for almost a year, and my girlfriend has had hears for slightly longer as hers came before mine although I bought both the same minute they became available for pre-order.

We both find them quite useful and almost indispensable, me more than my girlfriend. She will occasionally prefer to wear a bling filled diamond watch with something extra-fancy when we go out, but most of the time she wears her Apple Watch as do I, because of the features it offers that all other watches just cannot match.

The primary advantage is its ability to alert its user about whether a phone call of message is of importance or can be safely ignored to be handled later or not be handled at all. My girlfriend, who like many women, carries her iPhone buried in a cavernous purse, under makeup, wallet, hairbrush, car and housekeys and assorted other miscellaneous items that women cannot leave home without. When the iPhone rings, by the time she's found it, the moment, shall we say, has usually passed. With the Apple Watch, she can see who is calling and even answer if absolutely necessary without digging for gold in the mine pit of her purse. Messages and alerts are a momentary glance instead of a expedition to the bottom of the stope, only to find it was nothing she needed to worry about.

The other thing is my girlfriend is recovering from an episode with her heart in December and is having to do cardiac rehab. The Apple Watch is a godsend for exercise information and pulse information during cardio exercising. It automatically knows when she starts and stops exercising and keeps track.

It keeps track of walking, standing, sitting, etc. all automatically.

I use mine for sending messages, dictating to Siri and find her quite accurate. Alerts are also good when I am in meetings and I can just glance at my wrist to see if it is anything important or not. I've found it useful for a colleague to send my updates right in the middle of a meeting when something critical to the meeting occurs.

The batteries on our watches last easily all day, and sometimes two days. I usually put my watch on a sideways charge stand next to my bed at night where it becomes an easily reached night clock, showing the time in large green glowing letters at a touch. One hour on charge will fully charge them.

Not a word of truth in Okie's reply, Hildy, except that Apple has lowered the price of the low end Apple Watch by $50.

I bought one 10 months ago.

Why?

1) To replace an errant Polar Heart Rate monitor watch;

2) To be able to develop an app that warns me when my heart rate reaches certain levels during extended strenuous exercise;

3) To yell at me to stand up and walk around while I’m at work. (I’m at a bleeding edge startup in the Silicon Valley, and panic-filled hours spent sitting and staring at 3 screens add up.)

So far it’s done all those items admirably, but the biggest unexpected wins were:

1) being able to always know when and who’s calling or texting me - and being able to take the call on the watch. (Sometimes when driving my phone is stuck deep in a pocket.)

2) Having reminders for any meetings - sometimes scheduled in an emergency by my boss - alert me on my wrist in advance. It gets your attention.

Are those items above worth the $600 I’ve spent on it? ($400 watch plus I splurged later for Apple’s Black Milanese Loop band.) If I use it for 4 years, yes. If I get rid of it after only using it 2 years, no.

That’s my feedback...

Thank you. The reasons you stated are the exact reason I need it. I go to an inordinate amount of meetings and feel awkward having my phone in my hand like everyone does these days.

Got a 42mm gold aluminum case with the midnight blue sport band in Nov 2015 because I just wanted it, never thought I’d really justify it. I have been quite surprised at how useful it is, mostly for avoiding getting my phone out of my pocket when I don’t have to. I also track key stocks/options with it, that’s handy. And it does look cool... :)
