I don't know about you but I'm sick and tired of this election season. FR has turned into a bickering board of bitter bubbleheads, it seems. Where we used to see Ted Cruz as a principled conservative... we now attack anyone who likes him as a "Cruzite" or "Cruzombie"... what happened?
First, there was the attack against him that he played dirty tricks in Iowa by relaying an MSM message that Carson was leaving the race. What would you do? If you are in a popularity contest against multiple opponents, wouldn't you make sure that the votes of an ideological brother weren't wasted on a failed effort? It's a logical reasoning... and you don't have days to debate it in committee, you have minutes and seconds before votes are tallied. That Cruz apologized at all for this news media-inspired fiasco shows him to be the bigger man.
Then what? He's following the rules and gathering delegates? I thought we wanted someone who knows how the game is played and can win elections... silly me. The Trump supporters don't seem to realize that DT is not the closer he claims to be. He is riding a wave of populism but is losing on the rules because he is disorganized and unprepared.
Saying all of this doesn't mean I am anti-Trump... I am anti-Dem whether the Dem is Hillary, Bernie, or Biden. Doesn't matter to me. If Trump is the eventual nominee, he will get my vote to stop the Dem machine's destruction of our great country.
In the primary, though, I want the most conservative in the race who has shown he knows how to win. That man is Ted Cruz. Why he is slimed on a conservative board is beyond me... and it saddens me. Maybe he isn't your guy... fine. Why does he have to be slimed? If he does manage to pull out an upset... what have you accomplished but hurting our best chance for conservative restoration in this country?
The more we learned about Ted, the more we dislike him.
Your analysis is shallow. This quote goes back at least as far as the 50’s and has been used in many contexts. It isn’t Obama’s. The title is simply the culmination of many years on FR and many elections waiting for a principled conservative to stand up and be counted. Now he has... and we’re savaging him.
That is frankly absurd.
No fewer than half a dozen election boards have looked precisely at your allegation and concluded:
FALSE
Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen. Simply re-posting links from cool blogs that set the bar at some level that allows you to ignore the lifetime of good work by Cruz is ridiculous.
More importantly, this false argument is done to undermine the constitution. Natural born citizens are born outside the country all the time. If your side is so persuasive then they should have been able to win the argument. The fact that Obama with far less proof than Cruz has prevailed is further proof this is crackpot nonsense.
Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen and eligible to be President. Multiple authorities have considered your argument and found you are wrong.
You and several others consciously choose to ignore the conclusions and evidence in favor or emotion and feelings of making america great again.
>Although I agree with you in theory...in practicality, Cruz has some good points. Notice that there has been no violence of this sort at other candidates’ rallies.
DT ran his rallies a bit like a WWE event early on. He wanted to be the tough guy... and it escalated. Is he responsible for MoveOn and BLM attacking his rally? No. But it’s a selective reading of history to say that he didn’t more or less challenge them to try.
And no other candidate has had paid Soros protestors shutdown freeways to stop people from attending his rallies. The left causes violence at events for people they fear and they ignore Ted Cruz because he isn’t a threat.
And There’s still violence at Trump rallies. The only thing that’s changed is Trump asking people not to fight back so the media’s stopped reporting on it. Trump supporters are still regularly spit on, hit, robbed and assaulted by paid Soros protestors.
So why are you and Ted Cruz coming to Soro’s and BLM’s defense using the leftist media’s lying narrative? Why not take the high road and defends Trump’s right to have rally’s without violent leftists assaulting his supporters? Or are your principles entirely situation?
As I said, Cruz had every chance to size the high ground and probably the primary but he’s not a principled sort of guy.
Shockingly lucid and compelling explanation.
Well done.
Well said.
Yes, because he is an establishment, Harvard educated lawyer/Senator: POLITICIAN owned and paid for. Period. A good man, perhaps, however, a DC Cartel politician.
I have noticed that trump looks younger and better looking, while scruze started out not good looking at all has been looking really ugly lately. It is like his lying, and underhanded non Christian behavior is showing in his face. Kinda reminds me of Hillary’s dirty tricks, meanness, con jobs, lying show up in her face.
“Everything Cruz is doing to TRUMP in the suppressing, rejecting and replacing of Trump supporters to be his delegates, Cruz is doing to the people who put TRUMP where he is, at the head of the pack, smoking the field, and doing it with no theft.”
This is the part I want to know more about. I’ll just use Colorado as an example of the voter less sweep for Cruz? Are we allowed to know who these delegates are that have gone to Cruz? How did he do it? Is there video of their meeting? Is there a place where they are stating the reasons they went with Cruz i.e....a website? Shouldn’t they have to be accountable to the people of their state and the country really, for the reason behind their commitment? Shouldn’t it be transparent?
Another thing, Trump would have been excoriated for going in and buying delegates which is probably what happened. I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose not to go that route because of the way it looks.
How many has Kasich bought?
Man, Hannity is really pressing Cruz right now on his radio program.
Sean is getting frustrated because he thinks Cruz won’t give him a straight answer about the ‘stolen delegates’ controversy.
“THAT is why Kasickkkk is still in. He knows Cruz is out.”
I think the GOPe would be fine and dandy with Kasickkkk.
Because Cruz backers have been the soul of decorum? Because the insiders are warming to Cruz as their last chance to keep their fiefdoms? Because Trump wins a primary and the party apparatus says Up Yours, we’d rather have Ted? Because we recycled naked pics of Heidi Cruz? Oh, wait,
Similar to using bankruptcy laws to protect assets from creditors? Were his assets that large that he could make a seven figure “margin loan”?
You can call Ted Cruz conservative as much as you want but he is not conservative if he is for open borders and/or crazy levels of legal immigration and H1B visas. Which he has favored in the past.
If Cruz gets nominated and elected he will owe the GOPe tremendously so he will do would they want as far “free trade” and immigration. I do not trust Cruz on these two issues.
Thus... Donald Trump is the only candidate who is conservative in the ways that I want to see. In correcting our stupid trade and immigration policies. Trump will build that fence on the Mexican border while Cruz will put in a token 100-200 miles of patrolled fencing and call it a day.
Trump is conservative in other ways too. I will leave this for later but I will say he is pro-Second Amendment and has often talked about this
I respect your well stated reason for choosing Trump. I wonder how you explain that the border is your number one issue, yet you accept Trump’s “touch back” amnesty position? Seems like rewarding law breakers?
The Constitution was not ratified by popular vote.
If by “he”, you mean TRUMP:
At least “he” was not “fixing” delegates, working for globalists, voting for TPA, recommending pathways for legalization of invaders, working with the North American Union, their globalist donors, all the way to Sunny Brook Farm (the White House).
At least “he” worked for a living, in a brutal market and made a killing working with politicians and unions and labor and illegals when they were legal, and contractors, and foreign countries.
Cruz? Not so damn much that ever even mattered, just a solely career political opportunist and climber, who only recently decided he could climb on the backs of the galactically suckered, all the way to the White House.
A lot of folks are voting their conscious on thee NBC issue
Back when we oldsters were in school the definition was not what it is said to be today. Two citizen parents, child born in US or under its jurisdiction.
The courts can declare Ted Cruz to be an NBC, to some he is not. Just the same as the court can suddenly discover that two man can marry, to many it is still not a marriage.
Now if you hold he is NBC that is fine, but folks can disagree on matters of principle and still both parties can be trying to do the right thing.
In any case by the 27th of April we will have a much better idea of where things lie and if Mr. Cruz is seen as a viable candidate on the northeast or not.
>A lot of folks are voting their conscious on thee NBC issue
I just want to see his sealed documents on the subject. Generally people don’t hide documents unless they have something to hide.
And your point is???
We are in an oligarchy now. If you are on the wrong side of democracy, you won’t have the Constitution.
Fixing races is not a virtue. The Constitution was full of virtue.
Get it?
Pick your side.
