Special announcement today from the presidential press secretary in Washington:

I have a joint statement today for you from the White House and the Department of Defense.
First, thank you all for coming in on what for many is a well-deserved day off. I know it’s a beautiful day here in Washington, so I’ll try to make this as quick as possible. I have a statement for you and will be up to take a few questions afterwards. After this briefing concludes, I would direct your further questions to Air Force Col. Peter Stevens over across the river. Pete is standing watch over at the Pentagon public information office and will be able to answer any of your other questions.
The statement is as follows:
“Over the last 30 days, but most worrisome, with dramatically increased intensity over the last three days, U.S. Navy ships and United States Navy and Air Force aircraft on the high seas and in the air above those high seas have been repeatedly been, what some have called, “buzzed” by Russian warplanes.
This has all been dozens of miles inside what all counties acknowledge as international waters.
But “buzzing” does not begin to describe the seriousness, danger, and threat of these incidents. In each case, these were Russian attack warplanes practicing their purposeful attack profiles on American aircraft and ships. American commanders have no way to know, in fact no ship or aircraft commander of any country could ever know if foreign warplanes are actually attacking their ship or aircraft or simply practicing for such an attack.
The attack profile itself is unmistakable. The attackers’ intent and the final outcome are unknowable… until it is too lake.
In addition, although all the attacking aircraft turned out to be Russian, American on-scene commanders had no way to know if the attacking aircraft were Russian, or another, more hostile country or power during the attacking aircraft’s approach. With some reports now suggesting ISIL, also known as ISIS, has captured tactical aircraft, such situations are even more fraught with the potential for disastrous results.
To give you an idea how dangerous these practice attacks are, by international agreement and air regulations, aircraft are required to remain 1000 feet, or about 300 meters away from any occupied structure. The recent Russian attacks have repeated come within 50 feet, or 15 meters of U.S. ships and planes. The standard is 300 meters, but the buzzings have been at 15 meters, at almost 500 miles, or 800 kilometers per hour. At that speed, any nation’s attack aircraft are less than one half second’s mistake or misjudgment away from disaster… for everyone involved.
But the buzzing itself is only one part of the problem.
The attack profile itself is more dangerous, and open to disastrous misinterpretation. When an attack aircraft such as were used on these practice attacks can fly 5 miles or 8 kilometers in less than a minute, any American, Russian, or other country’s on-scene commander has no time to make an informed decision of how to protect his or her ship or aircraft. Because that commander has the duty to defend the sailors and airmen under his or her command, and has no way of know if the attack is real or just a practice attack, the following orders have been issued to all American ship and aircraft commanders.
“Effective 0001 Zulu time, also known as Universal Standard or Greenwich Standard time, 18 April 2016 all commanders operating in international waters or the airspace above those waters will take reasonable steps to maintain tactical surveillance of the sea and air around them by visual, electronic and other means.
While so operating, if the commander identifies a ship or aircraft within 10 miles or 15 kilometers that appears to be on an attack heading or profile, the commander will cause a warning to be broadcast on the internationally recognized hailing, traffic control and emergency maritime and air traffic control radio frequencies, warning such foreign ship or aircraft to cease such conduct. High intensity visual laser lights and other warning devices may also be used at the commander’s discretion. Each warning will be repeated at least 3 times.
Such a warning legally establishes and will be construed to establish a safety perimeter around the American ship or aircraft.
If such warning does not cause the intruding attack to be diverted, at a range of 5 miles, or 8 kilometers, the American commander is authorized and directed by this order to commence all defense action that he or she feels appropriate, without the need to obtain authority to do so from higher military authorities. That may include, at the 0n-scene commander’s sole discretion, deadly military force.
If such projected military force results in the downing or damage to a ship or aircraft of a foreign power, the American commanders is further authorized, at his or her discretion, to provide aid, assistance and rescue efforts, commensurate with his or her ship or aircraft’s ability to do so, without compromising his or her overall military mission.
Once any activity conducted under the direction of this order is complete, it will be reported in accordance with previously emplaced directives related to the chain of command, but such reporting will not be construed to be a requirement or directive to seek approval for defensive action as authorized by this order.

An informational copy of this order has been communicated in full to the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as the Ministries of Defense of other air and sea powers, the United Nations, and major international media sources. We would hope the media gives this order widespread distribution so as to minimize any unfortunate actions, such as occurred when a Soviet bomber crashed into the ocean after buzzing a U.S. Navy ship in 1976.
We would ask the Kremlin, if peace is your desire, why do you have to practice attacking American ships, in fact, why practice attacking the ships of any country?
If you so need to be prepared to conduct unprovoked attacks, practice using your own ships and aircraft as targets, not American ships, aircraft…. and American men and women.
Only disaster can result from the continuance of this exceptionally dangerous practice.

As it stands today, while maybe Trump helps my antacid pills be near at hand, if he were running as a D or L, I would still be leaning towards him (with same message) as the only ‘option’ I found was maybe Cruz but realistically he doesn’t stand a chance after the 1st vote - he has been weeweeing the GOPe off his entire term - paybacks will be in order and I am afraid we will get stuck with a Bush-Romney (either way) ticket and I can’t bring myself to vote for ANY of the clowns that would be there in Nov.
Will still go to the polls though and vote for Congress, Senate if us dissidents stay home the Libs may just take over the House ....NOT that it can be much worse than it is now but am sure BO is sitting on the real outlandish BS till Sept or so and try to ram it down our throats - Especially if the GOPe dumps crap on US..
