It has been a tough couple of weeks. Two weeks ago, we lost Alex the Border Collie. He was in failing health and 13-years old. Apparently, a brain tumor triggered grande mals and left him blind and paralized. He went to the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, the 3rd.

Our Bees are installed a week now. Filling our Bog Filter with pea gravel, now. Will use it to clean our duck pond water.

Moving raised beds and will level that spot and it will become my garden for potatoes, winter squash, brussels spouts, cabbage and corn.

We lost Daisy our Rat-terrier/Jack Russell mix a few months ago. She was my constant shadow-kind of needy-separation anxiety issues sort of.

She was having some sort of hip trouble. Would be on her stomach, and not able to get her back legs to get her up. I asked my daughter dog sit while we went out of town, and to groom her so that I could take her to the vet when we got back on Monday.

I also asked her to please keep her on the leash. She let her out in the AM and she never returned. They looked for her every where around, as did I when I returned. It breaks my heart to think that she probably lost her footing and struggled, but couldn’t make it home.

I really miss her, but don’t plan on getting another dog. Hubby doesn’t like them in the house, and we are not set up for one outside. It kept me tied down too, since she did not travel well, so we couldn’t hardly go anywhere for a few days.

We have a nice fenced “play yard” that I would let her out in to run around and do her business, and she liked to run after the tennis ball there as well as the squirrels.
