PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A new study suggests that long-term use of common heartburn medications could cause serious kidney damage.
Researchers believe one specific class of drugs can increase the risk of kidney disease, and failure.
That includes popular brands like Prilosec, Nexium, and Prevacid, which are all available over the counter.

I think you must be taking Prevacid. It comes in 15 mg capsules. If you are taking two that would not be unusual at all.

My DR told me I should get on Prevacid but I am opposed to taking any daily medication so I take Pepcid if I really need something. I’m glad I have that philosophy.
