In the book the Hound at the monastery reminds me how they changed the story from the book when they did the mini-series The Thorn Birds and the beloved older brother who went to jail came back home instead of languishing in jail. Perhaps, Martin did not want a favorite character to die ignobly and retired him to be a peaceful farm worker later in the story.
To pit the two brothers against each other and the Hound winning would be poetic justice, but the Hound should do it for himself and not as the “dog” of a king or queen like Joffrey or Cersei or that ingrate Arya.
That actor like Dinklage are remarkable.
What other story line prematurely ended would you have liked to see continue and how?
