Hello long lost cousin! Well, I'm a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, and have a fairly good understanding of the issues, so, ask away.

I'll have to look it up, but, if you are on the same line as me you are also a descendant of one of the Knights of Bath. In fact, you are a distant cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry through Diana. The ancestor would be John Lothrop, who was sent to Clink Prison for holding church services outside the Church of England,

Matthew was a sort of a pirate. And, I suspect he was actually supplying privateers of his day because he had a treasure that went missing when he died. His servant got the blame but then died with a broken heart as a social outcast. I'm thinking that the treasure is probably still buried in the town of Sandwich somewhere.
