For all you grammar police out there, the AP Stylebook will now dictate that "Internet" must be rendered in all articles as "internet" with a lowercase "i" and "Web" with a lowercase "w", the same as a spider's web. No special emphasis is to be granted to those words. ALAS! We Web Denizens have been demoted to just average citizens of the world. No longer may we be permitted to capitalize our virtual residence as though it had more import than anywhere else in the world. This change of import occurs on June 1, 2016 when the new stylebook comes out. Perhaps, we should protest by referring to "AP", as "ap" from now on?— PING!

Pinging dayglored and Shadow Ace for the passing of an era!

The "Internet" is dead
Long live the "internet!"

All this really shows is how far AP has fallen.

A very, very long time ago, AP quite simply WAS the news, everybody in the newspaper business built their particular slice of that world on stories that came off that hallowed AP teletype and the surest sign of a genuine old-time newsie was he was the only guy in the Newsroom that wouldn’t jump or even put down his coffee(or ?) cup when that little bell started ringing.

Now, the only way AP can even get noticed is by playing spelling Czar.

....lower case instead of upper. Give me a f’ing break.
