The Omaha woman bitten by a three-legged tiger at the citys zoo will pay a $250 fine after pleading guilty to trespassing.
Jacqueline Eide, 33, entered the plea at a hearing Monday morning. As part of a plea deal worked out with prosecutors, two other counts contributing to the delinquency of a child and criminal mischief were dropped.
Eide's fingers on her left hand were injured when she sneaked into the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium about 4 a.m. Nov. 1 and tried to pet a tiger named Mai, prosecutors have said.
The 18-year-old Malayan tiger arrived at the zoo in 2003 and had her front left leg amputated after it was damaged in a poachers trap.
A boy who Omaha police say was with Eide at the zoo was ticketed on suspicion of trespassing.
On March 8, Eide pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after she allegedly tried to bite an Omaha police officer in February. She was sentenced to 14 days in jail. A charge of possession of an open container of alcohol in public was dismissed by a prosecutor.
