We usually have burgers at home with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, sugarless pickles and no bun.
No fries, no chips, no sugar. Our burgers and steak are cooked rare. This keeps my Type 2 diebetic husband at a perfect blood sugar level.
Trans fats are terrible.
Being out west I get ground bison. 4 ounces with small cubes of butter pressed into it to keep it from drying out. Cook at 400 degrees on a griddle plate grill and it’s crusty outside, and juicy inside. Very lean. Toast the buns face down on the griddle, cook some green chile, add cheese and you’re good to go.
