Trump just dropped MAJOR HINT about what he’ll do if NOT the nominee…

The Republican establishment breathed a huge sigh of relief last fall when GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump signed a loyalty pledge binding him to endorse the GOP nominee, whomever it is, and precluding a third-party run. At the time, a close associate said the candidate felt he’d been “treated fairly” by the party, which had been Trump’s stated criterion for deciding to sign the pledge.

A lot of things have changed since then — including both the relationship between Trump and the party and the candidate’s commitment to the pledge, apparently. As the New York Post reports, the GOP frontrunner is leaving the door open for a third-party bid, should he not walk away from the party convention as the nominee.

Donald Trump is refusing to rule out a third-party bid for The White House.

During a Fox News interview airing Sunday, Trump said he would prefer to run on the Republican line, but left himself the option for an independent bid should the party reject him at the July national convention in Cleveland.

“I want to run as a Republican. I will beat Hillary Clinton,” he told Fox’s Chris Wallace, in an excerpt released Friday.

When pressed on a potential third-party candidacy, Trump added: “I’m gonna have to see how I was treated [before making a decision]. It’s very simple.”

A third-party run by anyone has the potential to dramatically alter the general election outcome — and by someone with as much staunch support behind him as Donald Trump, it’s pretty much unchartered territory.

Rivals Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. John Kasich both were also noncommittal recently about supporting the Republican nominee, regardless of who it ends up being, when asked by Anderson Cooper during a recent CNN town hall.

It would destroy the gop and set the stage for a second party to rise.

A very nice second prize.

“Trump signed an agreement to do something, now he’s backing off of that agreement. Do you want this man as president?”

A valid agreement always requires reciprocal consideration, and the RNC appears to be reneging on its commitment to deliver upon its obligation for that agreed upon consideration. An RNC failure to perform in accordance with the agreement effectively invalidates the agreement due to the RNC to deliver the consideration. Trump is not obligated to perform an agreement that is already invalidated by an RNC refusal to deliver the consideration promised by the RNC.

Hmmm. I pick “evil” for $500. The gop couldn’t care less about winning the presidency at this point. It’s all about continuing their gravy train.

All the polls show Ted beating Hillary handily.

But you trumpers only believe in polls that show trump winning, right?

And yet Trump has more delegates than Cruz thus far (273 to be exact).

I love the Common Core reasoning you Cruzbots employ to tout your guy. Cruz can’t beat Trump, but he can’t beat Hillary. Yeah, sure thing.

Every day Cruz proves to be more and more an establishment POS.

You mean the two authors of Obamatrade and without guilt promoting/approving TPP? You really want this country to lose more manufacturing jobs and increased immigration.

CORRECTION (Typing too fast):

“I love the Common Core reasoning you Cruzbots employ to tout your guy. Cruz can’t beat Trump, but he can’t beat Hillary. Yeah, sure thing.”

SHOULD READ:

I love the Common Core reasoning you Cruzbots employ to tout your guy. Cruz can’t beat Trump, but he CAN beat Hillary. Yeah, sure thing.

You don’t get it. There is a breach of contract. The RNC is playing dirty pool, and Trump is calling them on it. The RNC has been warned repeatedly, but they continue to play dirty. Did you know about the “secret meeting” the RNC and other had in changing the rules of engagement? It stinks. Rancid Penis should be fired. If Carl came down with a serious medical condition, I’d not be concerned for his welfare.

>> I don’t understand how any state can do that <<

Try reading the U. S. Constitution, where it says that the states’ legislatures are the sole authorities for determining how electors for the POTUS are chosen.

Basically, the state legislatures can set up any set of rules they want — other than maybe to rule that blacks, other ethnic minorities, homosexuals and females can’t be electors.

>> he is not leading a third party campaign <<

Mr. Trump doesn’t have the funds to make it effective. And he’s known as a pretty “tight wadded” sort — not the kinda guy who’s likely to throw his own assets into an electoral black hole.

Don’t like Trump at all but if he gets the requisite delegates and not the nomination I won’t vote either.

I’m not a Professor of the Constitution like Obama, but man, that is crazy, that’s kind of fascist isn’t it? I will vote for only the people THEY choose for me, so basically if I write in Trump it will be ignored. Our leaders are already chosen for us anyway aren’t they nationwide, whatever the elitists and media choose are the ones they will promote as being the best while they ones they disagree with are slammed on a daily basis.

I hope he wouldn’t really do it! Defeating the socialists is the main thing for me. But still I appreciate he is saavy in negotiation and hope it will lower our chances of the GOPe burdening us with some “fresh face” nominee.
