So Im going to point a very powerful beam of coherent light energy at a moving target a gazillion miles away to hide the earth?
Wouldn’t a laser powerful enough to hide the earth a gazillion miles away necessarily be awful dang powerful. Almost like a weapon.
I’m sure this band of interstellar non-humans would be a bit annoyed at our feeble attempts to fry their corneas.
Then theres the issue of what frequency is this laser. What frequency do the illegal non-humans perceive?

Umm wouldn’t the laser kinda draw attention? Monochromatic, coherent light, like from a laser, pretty much screams out "Technological civilization here!"
