Ah, the old Pogue carburetor:

A Holy Grail among some young motor enthusiasts.

Is Naboo where Noobees come from?

There certainly seem to be a lot if them lately popping up out of nowhere with a lot of FR confidence..

What? What?

You’re saying there’s no perpetual energy machines? Say it ain’t so...

Have you ever had an alternator with a bad diode? It will charge your battery, but the minute you turn off the engine the battery will drain through the alternator. This creates an electromagnetic field around the alternator, and your battery will be dead in the morning. The bigger the field the faster the battery is drained. By printing these magnates they are greatly reducing the size of the magnetic field. If I understood the video correctly, it might also be possible to make electrical motors with out the need of brushes or a commutator.

I would love to play with that printer, I would be in Nerd heaven.

Probably a practical outgrowth of the guys that tried building self perpetuating magnet motors.

Imagine the energy savings when used on maglev trains.

Genesis 11:6 - 7

And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

Daniel 12:4

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

They can be printed as small as the ink jet or whatever device orifices will allow, I suppose. That being said, The possibilities are endless.....................

Thanks, I have several varieties of human powered flashlights along with radios and cell phone chargers. I like the clear plastic so that you can see inside on that one. Collecting and making human powered devices have been a strange hobby of mine for many years. Almost all are based on permanent magnet motor/generators.

One Christmas I hooked up an antique telephone magneto to a couple strings of led Christmas lights and made the grandkids light the tree by turning the handle. It gave a very neat flickering effect since the magneto puts out AC power at a lower frequency than 60hz line power.

Many permanent magnet motor designs do not use commutator or brushes. The electric bicycle hub motor I used in a project had an electronic speed control that created a rotating magnetic field that drug the permanent magnets around with it similar to the rotating magnetic field used in three phase motors. And in fact when you used the hub motor as an alternator it created 3 phase alternating power the same as a car alternator does before the current is rectified.

My original idea was to set up a bicycle with a gas engine and the electric hub motor so that you could switch between using the hub motor as means of charging the batteries when powering the bike with the gas engine. Then when you came to a long hill you could use both the hub motor and the electric motor to get over it quickly and when you were in town you could use just the electric motor.

The idea worked but the bike was so heavy that it was impractical. I eventually sold the gas engine and the hub motor on separate bicycles. It did give an interesting comparison between electric and gasoline powered vehicles however. There is a good reason why gasoline powered vehicles are more popular than electric. The power to weight ratio is far better with gasoline and the energy storage capacity of a gas tank as compared to a battery is almost laughable. But my electric bike would keep up 25mph for nearly an hour so it did have its uses.

“One thing we do know, after centuries of earnest attempts and lots of informed discussion & study of the subject, is that “perpetual motion machines” don’t and can’t exist. This is one subject which, along with many others in science, fit the model of “if you don’t agree, go think about it until you do.”

Sorry for the late reply.

This statement is an example of which I speak. Yes, based on our current thinking, such cannot exist. However, we have not completed our exploration and understanding of science. To make such statements once again indicates that we have the final word on what can and cannot be. This is totally false based on millennia of discovery and changes in scientific discovery that has occurred to this point in time. I guess my concern is that those who are now learning will foolishly be taught and then think that there is not more to be discovered in the certain areas based on the current models, when that is most certainly false. We, in effect, paint ourselves into a corner when it should never have happened in the first place.

Some facts don’t change.
Some things are proven.
And some very wrong ideas won’t ever go away because some refuse to learn WHY they’re proven true.

And all these “extreme” examples adhere perfectly, every time.
