Beck has taken in recent weeks to referring to Cruz as the “anointed one,” beseeching Christian voters that it’s their religious due to vote for Cruz.

WTF? I have not been listening to Beck lately, but I'm dubious that he would say that. Does anybody have a transcript to put that in context?

(King Saul was "anointed", and so was King David, but "anointed one" would in later times mean "Christ" (in Greek) or "Messiah" (in Hebrew)).

It’s true, Beck really did refer to Cruz ad anointed. I’m on my phone now, buy just do a quick Google search and you’ll find it.
