Time to go

When Sundance replaced Mark Levin in the hearts of so many Freepers, I should have taken the hint. The site has become almost totally partisan. That partisanship is leading to such incredible, slanderous commentary that you would have to look twice to see if you are at FR or DU. We talk about a circular firing squad, and here one pops up. We are destroying our chance to move the ultra left out of the White House by trying to destroy each other.

So finally, sadly, I think it is time for me to go, I don't want to be a part of it anymore. I have mostly enjoyed my time here, it used to be a great place, and I was happy to add what little support I could to keeping it up.

To Jim: please check your mail. I sent you a request to delete my account information, but I guess you haven't seen it yet. Good luck with FR and I hope it survives this election cycle without any real bloodshed.

Mods: Please delete my FR account.

Wish it wasn’t so. Pay no attention to the snark-meisters. They appear to be missing the point. Sites like this miss their purpose if they don’t serve to build a strong conservative brotherhood. Doesn’t mean we have to agree on everything. But this ease of cutting people out because they dissent isn’t helping us recapture the culture for conservatism. Personally, I think it is a calculated strategy to splinter us, and we are letting it happen, and we will be much weaker when this is all over, because we didn’t value what was really important.

Note to JR and the mods: I’m not voting for any candidate ever who supports abortion, even if only in the exceptions. It’s a moral crime to kill a baby just because the dad was a rapist or a sibling of the mother. If you think that makes me a traitor, then you should act consistently with your convictions. That’s what I intend to do, and if it means losing my FR account, so be it.

I may be wrong, but I think Rudy's stand on abortion was the main reason Giuliani supporters ended up being purged from FR.

There's one major difference this primary has over previous ones at this site.

I understand your decision completely. It’s one thing to disagree, but the outright name calling is really over the top. I thought we were all fighting for the same thing. Now it seems it’s open season o anyone who does not support Trump.

“Men in Black” is a very good book, and a good educational tool in regards to judicial activism (a.k.a. legislating from the bench). ‘Ameritopia’ is also good, although one must have a well grounded ‘common sense’ understanding of the Constitution when one reads it. take the 14th Amendment for instance...

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.”

So let's break this down as the SCOTUS ruled in 1868 & reaffirmed in 1884, that the language of the Constitution does in deed define who that natural born citizens are.

All persons born “IN” the United States.. Ted Cruz fails this test

and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.. this includes not only local jurisdiction, but also political jurisdiction and since Cruz was subject to neither at birth, he also fails this part of the test

is a citizen of the state wherein they reside at birth... also, a HUGE fail for Ted Cruz.

This isn't complicated, although lawyers would like us to think so because that is how they make their money, by obfuscating the law. The Library of Congress, on citizenship and immigration and naturalization states that from 1790 to 1950, women and children were of the nationality of their husband/father respectively. Only through congressional legislation did that change and that legislation, that is the actual law, not the code as the code is only evidence of the actual laws that govern, is that which all judges go to when deciding cases. The actual law that governed at the time Cruz was born, and when he came to the US at the age of 4, states that Cruz entered the US as a “non-quota” immigrant. Only after the parents residing with the child in the US for the required numbers of years, did Cruz become a US citizen because of his mother's citizenship. Cruz is not a natural born citizen, no way, no how. Rubio also because at the time of his birth, that same law states that children born to Cuban refuges in the US are aliens at birth and remain so until that parents naturalize or upon their coming of age, the child seeks US citizenship.

So do not let these obfuscating constitutional ignoramuses make you feel as if you can't know the law because you didn't receive some liberal law school degree. the law is not complicated if one has educated themselves into the “terms of art” that define the law, a.k.a. words that no longer hold their common meaning because the law specifically gives them another definition.

We the people through our representatives in Congress make the laws and therefore we are to be able to read them and understand them. And I have found that this is not hard to do when the statutes have definitions in them such as the 1965 Immigration & Nationality Act that states:

“Non-quota” immigrant: a child born in a foreign country to one US citizen parent and one alien parent

Doesn't get much clearer than that!

Little doubt FR has turned into Trump Headquarters.

I'll continue the good fight till we have a nomination, see if things get better after Ted Cruz is nominated at the Contested Convention.

I want to be around when heads explode.

Trump has been sliding downward as Cruz builds momentum since the field has cleared.

I actually just became a freerepublic.com reader and member due to the passion behind this year’s primaries, so that kinda offsets your departure. Even if you are disappointed by a fiery debate, leaving isn’t going to change it. Let your voice be heard instead of abandoning something that upsets you.
